Wade Phillips said, banging his hand on the podium - "We're ready, it's time!"

Wade Phillips believes the Cowboys have taken steps to improve on the mistakes from last season.

Phillips tells the media that Tony Romo has worked very hard in the off-season. Similar to the way John Elway worked when Phillips was with Denver.

Phillips also acknowledged the team has a long way to go.

Jerry keeps going back to protection for Romo.

I hope that means he realizes how poorly the line played last year and that they've taken steps to "fix" whatever the problem was.

Wade may be a lot of things puppet he is not. I really have missed how some can slam the coaches and owner before a single snap has taken place. Hell with fans like this may as well be in Philly.

I was thinking the same thing. This is a meaningless, fluff-filled training camp intro PC. We all know in advance that it's not really going to tell us anything of substance. For most of us it's still something fun to listen to, but those who don't agree are free to ignore it.

If people are going to be this negative now, imagine if we lose a game or two.

People sit here saying they can't wait until the season? Or is it they can't wait to lay into Jerry and Wade over nothing? Will Wade be tougher on the team? We will find out but nothing said today proves it one way or the other. Before people start with the whining why not wait and see what takes place.

Back to the PC, Wade says we had a top offense two years ago but not a top running game the last two years. Says we've been in the 20s, and that's not good enough. Says we need to get into the top 10, and that's going to be an emphasis.

I know we pretty much knew this, but it's good to hear they have a definite goal to improve that area of the team.

It's almost like people think Jerry is going to open up and tell us all of his concerns and private thoughts over every facet of the team, as if it's our right to know every last detail.

Some people are like circling buzzards, waiting for the yak to fall over and die so they can pick the carcass clean and say, "See! I told you so!"

Also mentioned that it's not because of the running backs, since we have such a good stable of backs. Again, more emphasis on the O-line from this press conference (if you're reading between the lines).
