Is it me or do we need a guy to be a KO specialist. I like Folk and all but his kick offs are painfully short. I mean coming down at the 15-25! yard line is bad. YOu can't give away 25% of the field all the time.

His kicks have been pathetic. Can't blame it on directional kicks either. They have been to about the 7 or shorter no matter where he kicks it. The only thing on Special Teams as bad is our punt returns. There has to be someone who can catch a punt and get some positive yards.

They have generally been short all year. I thought he was supposed to have this big booming leg that allowed him to routinely kick the ball into the end zone on kickoffs. What gives?

I'd wait another year. Usually rookie kickers struggle on kickoffs or struggle with field goals. So if you get a guy that does well on field goals, chances are he'll struggle on kickoffs. They'll probably get Folk's leg stronger and he'll have more endurance. Plus, he should be getting used to the lower kickoff tees and just overall knowing how to kickoff in the NFL, which is much different from when he was in college (they used to have huge tees and kickoffs from the 35 and it was easy to just swing as hard as they could and hit low line drives that were far into the end zone.).

Thats the same thing I was thinking. I think his leg is starting to hit a rookie wall. I think once he gets an offseason in our lifting program his kicks will have more power
