So, that was a pretty rough game. I had said in a recent thread that even if the Cowboys lose this year, I'd find a way to cope with it if I knew they played their hardest. Well I felt like they did, Lee was a monster out there, CB's stepping up and making some plays here and there. The offense generally looked pretty good vs one of the leagues best defenses.
But here is my little problem. As a fan, I can't take these kind of games. It seems that a Cowboy loss usually falls in to two categories:
1. We just get blown out the water.
2. We are winning and just lose in incredible fashion.
This defense has so many problems it's not even funny, but I'm not going to castrate them too much, we are depleted at CB. The job our OL did is very commendable, I feel like this is going to be a strong point eventually for us. 3 very inexperienced guys on the OL? Not bad at all.
I just want us to play some games where we aren't lulled in to thinking we won and then get the shocker of our lives. Something I'd consider a normal loss.
I don't consider the way we closed out Texas stadium. The way we lost to the Skins on the Barron hold and then this (And I know I'm missing a ton more, Zona game from 08 I think?) to be the kind of game we lose. We need to learn how to be a team that gets a lead and keeps a lead. There are simply no excuses for Romo in this one. He was playing an awesome game and then in a situation where we could go up 2 scores he fumbles the ball. Then to make matters worse, he throws a Romo O' Donnel to setup Folk for the perfect story book ending.
Is it just me, or are we the only team that goes through these kind of losses on a regular basis? When I saw the Giants do this last year vs the Eagles I was laughing so hard about it. I could not BELIEVE how a team let another win like that. Thing is, we consistently do this. I'm trying my best to cope on effort but the sports network and internet aren't going to use effort for their headlines, they'll use 9/11, Folk Payback and Romo Choke Job.
Such is life as a Cowboys fan.
