Kindle App for Smart Phones...

Sitting in class this morning and wanted to order "The Village" by Francis J. West. I hop on Amazon on my Crackberry and lo and behold up pops the Kindle app for Blackberry. I had no idea that there was a Kindle app for smart phones. Downloaded the app, bought the book, and I was dutifully reading it in less than five minutes.

GREAT app, free of charge. Book is pretty decent too.

Yeah, I downloaded the Kindle App for the iPhone a few months ago.

What I didn't like is that even if you have an Amazon.com account, you have to setup a new Amazon.com Kindle Account.

Before creating a new account, I found out about the iPhone app Stanza but of course, Amazon bought it last year .

Actually, I was wrong. Seems my real Amazon.com account password had expired, so you can use your Amazon.com account for your kindle account.

I am playing around with the app right now and the preview feature is pretty cool.

The only negative is that it is easy to get lost in the regular Amazon.com website when looking for books.

Overall, I think Stanza is a better application but that is probably why Amazon bought it.
