New England and Philly are the two winningest teams over the past four years. They've also pretty much sat free agency out. Is there a correlation? Have they signed a few no-name free agents and depended on the draft or have they just had the best talent and spent their FA money to keep it?

The Pats have lost several good players- I seriously doubt that that is good for them. They certainly need a kicker- and some others. The Birds still need a real RB and have some holes elsewhere.

The Pats are looking at Keyshawn and Vanderjagt.

Sat FA out? Dillon, Ty Law, TO, Kearse, McGinnest, Harrison, Colvin etc... Not sitting FA out by any stretch of the iminagation. That is what I love about alot of Sports Reporters they rely on some random thought they had while taking a dump, instead of doing research to develop to deliver the facts.

EAGLES:
QB - Proven in Mcnabb
FB - Ritchie is good
RB - Westbrook is not a RB more of a reciever (lendale white possibility?)
WR - doesnt impress me much
TE - Smith is mean i like him
O-line - about even with our division
CB - they are way over-rated
FS - 1 of the best in the game (DAWKINS)
SS - young and progressing hes alright
OLB - eh i feel they lack it here
MLB - Trotter is a beast and stays healthy
DE - Kearse (whos on the otherside?)

not to impressive in my book . . .

Pats:
lost a lot of big names but they were old.
their division sucked last year and i have a feeling that its going to change and they will not win it again.

i dont see either team making the playoffs maybe not even break .500.

When NE does make a big FA move it is usually an intelligent one. Rodney Harrison and Corey Dillon both worked out well for them.
Philly doesn't seem capable of making good FA decisions (TO, Kearse) and refuse to pay a lot of good players that they drafted. They have stayed on top due to poor talent level in the NFC.

Yet more evidence that you can make anything look good and anything look bad if your agenda needs it.

Dillon? Kearse? Owens? Yeah, no big moves ..

Corey Dillon is pretty talented, as are TO and Jevon Kearse. And oh yea...Rodney Harrison.

The one common thread for those 2 teams is good drafting not avoiding free agency, in my opinion. NE has made some great draft day trades and both teams have had alot of success finding playmakers in every round of the draft.

Both teams have made excellent moves for picks. Bledsoe and Parcells netted the Pats some high caliber selections.

AJ Feely for a second rounder comes to mind for the Egirls.

King was referring to this current free agent period. It doesn't take Norman Einstein to figure that one out.

Law and McGinest were Parcells draft picks, always Patriots.

Peter King is an idiot. I just posted his predictions from last year. He's wrong on a regular basis, and just keeps talking.

Believe me, the best thing for you, is to have him be down on your team. When he picks you, it might as well be the kiss of death.

The article was referring to THIS offseason not all the past offseasons.

So far this offseason the pats have lost about 5-6 players and signed a castoff WR from San Diego.

Clayton was talking about this on sportscenter and could only GUESS that maybe they are holding back in FA because they are going after someone big, say Lavar, and also because they want to re-sign Seymour.
