ESPN's Mel Kiper compares Oregon junior DL Arik Armstead to Ziggy Ansah.
In his mock draft, Kiper slotted Armstead to Atlanta at No. 8. "At nearly 6-foot-8 and 290 pounds, he doesn't just offer exceptional quickness for his size, he's also a powerful edge player who can simply move people backwards when he's playing with leverage and is going to disrupt passing lanes with his length," Kiper wrote. "When you think of what a guy like Ziggy Ansah can do for Detroit in converting speed to power and removing the pocket even when he's not blowing by you -- essentially succeeding even as a relatively raw player -- there's a comparison to be made between the two players." Armstead declared for the draft after posting 46 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this past season. He grades out as NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah's No. 13 prospect. Huge Oregon fan here. I don't see it. Plays for a team that is up and creates passing situations a ton and still has low #s

Always played with a massive lead and still couldn't get to the QB or make splash plays. At 6-7/6-8 you would expect him to knock down a lot of passes. Big nada.

I don't see the Ansah comparison at all. He sorta reminds me of a very raw version of Cameron Jordan a few years back. I think he could develop into a good 3-4 DE but not really a fit in the 4-3.

Right now though, he is just a very good athlete for his size. I think Oregon should fire their defensive lineman coach because they are just waisting elite talent over there. It seems every year there is a guy from Oregon that has awesome athletic ability but appears to have no clue how to play with proper technique.

I see him as a Cam Heyward with a little more upside. I don't think he is every going to be a plus rusher, but he can develope into a player who constantly moves the pocket.

If we are excluding pro careers amd comparing based on what players looked like as prospects, I compare him to a smaller, quicker Brockers as a 3-4 DE.

Cam Jordan maybe, Chris Canty more, Ziggy Ansah not a lick.
