12. Dallas Cowboys
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

I was torn here, as I think Dallas will look at all offensive playmakers. It needs a difference-making WR2 to take some of the load off CeeDee Lamb. But I'm not sure Texas' Matthew Golden or Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan will go quite this early.

Instead, I see the Cowboys trying to improve the run game, which managed 4.0 yards per carry and a league-low six TDs last season. They have thus far replaced Rico Dowdle with Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Neither new back has the home run ability of Hampton, who can scoot through holes and take off despite his 221-pound build. I've never been an advocate of the first-round running back, but team owner Jerry Jones isn't afraid to address the position on Day 1.

44. Dallas Cowboys
Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

Trevon Diggs had 11 interceptions in 2021, and DaRon Bland had nine in 2023. But neither played more than 11 games last season, and both struggled at times in coverage when on the field. The end result was 7.9 yards allowed per opponent pass attempt, which tied for worst in the NFL.

Amos had three picks and 15 pass breakups last season, and he has played in 63 career games. In addition to shoring up the outside, he'd help replace Jourdan Lewis, the Cowboys' slot corner who left in free agency.

I hope they don't go RB in rd 1, but Hampton is a really good player. Amos is a good CB too. I wouldn't be super angry.
But, I'd be a little disturbed they still aren't addressing the D-line with a high draft pick, especially at 1T. This class is deep at DT but most of them are 3T's. It's thin at top tier 1T's and I think they need to take advantage of that when they get the chance. IMHO a stud 1T DT is a bigger need than CB. So I'm looking to grab the best one I can at 44. T Williams for osu would do.

Well, I like Amos. Not a Hampton fan, so I would be hoping they do damage with the other picks, and Amos is a good start. 3rd round get a 1T.

BTW.....Where is the sudden talk of Shedure to the Saints to coming from? The Saints have shown a lot of interest ( only sent or couple of scouts to his pro day). Personally, I this Deion's camp talk. The truth is IMO, if the Giants and Browns pass on him, he could certainly fall out of the top 10, maybe even the top 20.

I'm starting to believe CB will def be one of our top 3 picks. Diggs is likely gone after this season, and Bland is a free agent with a price tag north of $30M.

No chance they go Hampton. If they are showing little interest in Jeanty they are showing you RB is not a first round priority

Not true.

They know Jeanty wont make it to them and they actually have shown interest

Pls stop Mel.

Hampton is just about worst case for me. I question his vision and lateral quickness, and there are probably 3 or 4 RBs I'd rather draft than him in rounds 2 and 3.

I see absolutely nothing in Hampton that excites me at all. Yeah Yeah I know I’m not a scout but rb’s are usually pretty easy to get juiced about. Hampton = Nothing for me. What am I missing?!

Funny friend at work is convinced the Cowboys take Hampton at 12, don't see it and I'm a fan of the player, but not at 12.

I like Hampton a lot.

But no need to burn the 12th overall pick on him in a deep RB class.

If you said trade down and get Hampton AND another 2nd rounder....which is very possible...then I'm reluctantly ok
