TOP FIVE DRAFT-ELIGIBLE PROSPECTS AT EACH POSITION | Jan. 10
(previous rank in parentheses)
The entry of underclassmen into the draft process has shaken up my Big Board of the top 25 NFL prospects, and the reverberations are felt on my lists of the top five prospects at each position.
Junior quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers of California and Alex Smith of Utah have instantly landed at the top of the QB list, while at linebacker sophomore Channing Crowder of Florida and junior Odell Thurman of Georgia now sit atop the rankings. In all, eight underclassmen are now among the top five at their position.
There has also been some shuffling among seniors, with Michigan's David Baas moving from the top spot at guard to No. 1 at center after spending nearly the entire season at the pivot, and USC's Shaun Cody shifting from defensive end to tackle.
