1. Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Final Big Board rank: 7

I thought it would take some patience and seasoning for Wentz to become a starter in the NFL, but he has been extremely impressive in his two starts so far. He has shown accuracy -- he's completing 60.6 percent of passes -- and poise, and his command of the Eagles' offense is noticeable. The most impressive thing: no interceptions on 71 attempts. Now, Wentz is still taking too many hits, and he won't last long if he continues that way -- he suffered a hairline fracture to a rib in the preseason -- but the first two games have showcased his immense potential.

4. Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Final Big Board rank: 114

Prescott has been stellar filling in for the injured Tony Romo. The Cowboys have shown tremendous faith in the fourth-round pick -- he has already thrown 75 passes in two games. Like Wentz, he has yet to turn the ball over and isn't making mistakes, though Prescott is averaging less than 7.0 yards per attempt. The rookie ranks No. 9 in the league in Total QBR so far. He has shown the potential to be Romo's successor.

Stealers will be a big test for Carson this week. Particularly on a short week. I see a loss in his near future.

Not to say dak is better than Wentz bc that's yet to be determined

But in rankings like these..Wentz is going ahead of Dak only bc he's considered the superior prospect...not based on their play so far, which is how these rankings are supposed to be determined

Really going out on a limb, aren't ya?

And what do you see if it was Rayne Dakota going up against that same Steelers' defense?

Daks game against Washington was better than any performance Wentz has had so far
Im sure you know that doent have much do with how you draft someone. Much, much longer term view for that

You should really speak for yourself and let Mel speak for himself.

This team isnt beating the Stealers. I see them hanging at least 35 points on em.

I'm in remote location and for whatever reason it wont let me access my insider account.
Could you maybe list a few of the players.
I was Kevin Dodd fan.
Was wondering if hes moved up a lot from 33

The "expert".
Why wasn't he #4 during the draft?
You really can't hold him responsible for not knowing the future. They can only base their opinion on past experience and it dictated Dak may struggle making the leap. His intellect overall may be his strongest asset; and there are so many other things scout are looking at before they really get that far. If the first things they look at don't pass the eye test, they don't bother doing the extra digging. The problem was he was asked to do things in college that did not allow him to showcase his abilities that translate to the NFL, such as reading defenses presnap, making adjustments, calling audibles, recognizing man vs zone and the Mike, going through his reads, keeping his eyes down field while feeling the pass rush, and throwing passes into tight windows.

And then there's this whole thing that he had him as a 4th round value and he ended up being drafted in the 4th round.

Apparently the entire league is made up of novices.

Yep.

And keep in mind that Prescott may have been operating behind what was arguably the worst OL in the SEC.

On top of that his center made shotgun snaps a regular adventure.
