Kiper's Round 2 Mock

Hate the new format. Some of us on the West Coast work during the week. Didn't leave work until 7:30 last night. Gonna miss most of the 2nd today.

So what you're saying is that us people on the East Coast actually have an advantage on something now. :laugh2: Seriously, this is why I believe the Central Time is the perfect time. As far as the mock, I don't think both safeties fall that far. I would rather get Nate over Morgan but will cry if we get Morgan anyway.

I'm loving this new draft format .... the second round finally gets the limelight it deserves. This is more like starting over again, instead of a continuation.
I like it to. A Friday filled with trade speculation and Draft analysis.

What could be better honestly?

 let Mel be wrong like always...

I'll be pissed if we don't draft Nate Allen if he's still there during our pick.

Bryant in the 1st and Allen in the 2nd, gives us the best first 3 rounds in my opinion and that's w/o having a 3rd rounder.

I just feel both of these guys can contribute from day 1 and be very productive. Also, Dez is a ridiculously great value at 24. That guy has top 5/10 talent. Miles + Dez = Deadly offense.

The beagles love Allen. I wouldn't shock me in the least to see him fly off the board with their early second round pick.

the one thing i would hate in this situation is a trade down with a lot of viable guys still on the board.

Huh? That's when you do trade down, when there are "a lot of viable guys still on the board."

if we trade into the 3rd down 15 spots then they might not be there.

That's rough. A friend of mine lives in Santa Monica, but he said he can leave work early.

I like it spread out three days, but maybe they could start it later.

You're right man. I thought I would hate it but I love it.

The draft was absolutely perfect last night outside of ESPN's coverage.

It could have been just as good on a Saturday, and way more convenient.

I HATE when they have 15 players at the draft and they show every stinkin one of them of the phone before the pick.

The best part of the draft is the element of surprise and that hurts it.

Agreed. The "Mike Lombardi says the pick will be .." intros don't help either. He's almost always right (save for the Eagles pick), which means no suspense.

Alot of people are complaining about the surprise element being taken away about the draft this year and it wouldn't surprise me if the NFL bans the networks from doing that in 2011. We saw that Seattle picked Earl Thomas on NFLN 3 minutes before Goodell announced it.

I doubt Allen falls that far ... certainly not past Dallas.

Maybe Jerry should sit tight instead of trading up for a safety.

I think it depends on how the first 10-15 picks play out. If a run starts on the safeties left, Jones might move up if one falls within range. If teams take other positions, they might can wait.

Why don't I hear much talk about drafting an offensive lineman in the 2nd? Is there not much quality there in the 2nd?

Man, you absolutely must invest in a DVR,,, these things will change how you watch television completely.

Trade up to take Saffold in the 2nd Round however I think the Boyz are targeting Safety.

Good, informative post that certainly needed a brand new thread.

Zane Beadles

After redshirting his initial year at Utah, Beadles played in all 13 games and started 12 at left guard (he came off the bench against BYU after missing practice with a concussion). He totaled 10 pancake blocks, 10 cut blocks and 19 knockdowns. In his sophomore year, Beadles was moved from guard to tackle in Utah's preseason camp and started all 13 games at left tackle. He registred 22 pancake blocks, 37 knockdowns and 17 cuts, and earned a second team All-MWC selection.

In his junior season, Beadles led Utah with 40 knockdowns, while also having 42 pancake blocks and 27 cuts. He played and started in 12 games and earned first team All-MWC honors, helping the Utes reach a BCS bowl, an unbeaten 13–0 season and a No. 2 national ranking in the final AP Poll.

For the 2009 season, Beadles was named to the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award.[5][6] He was also listed at No. 6 on Rivals.com′s preseason offensive tackle power ranking.[7] He also was a First-team All-American by the FWAA.
