Kirk is my favorite WR in this draft

I like him too.
But Ridley is my favorite.
There are several WRs I like
Ridley
Moore
Kirk
Sutton
Washington
Gallup
Hamilton
good group.

I don’t want Washington nor Sutton. Nothing against them but they would sit on bench.

I know everyone talks about Ridley all the time but Christian Kirk is actually my favorite WR in this draft

Hes crazy explosive

FWIW, Drew rates Kirk as his #2 WR. Gallup is his #1.

Christian Kirk WR Texas A&M

TALENT

STRENGTHS

Christian has the speed and quickness that will make him attractive to all 32 teams in this draft. He has the size and bulk of a running back and this makes it easy for him to gain yardage after the catch. Christian has excellent hands to catch the ball when running those deep routes and the body control and quick eye/hand coordination to adjust to the ball and make the acrobatic catch. He plays with an excellent ability to NOT take the big hit because of his lateral agility and vision when running after the catch. He's also has excellent special teams return skills and talents. His ability to set up blockers and quickness make him one of the most dangerous special teams returner’s in this draft. Add that to his soft hands, his ability to catch the ball down the field, his ability to make acrobatic catches, his excellent route running, his quickness in and out of his breaks, and his ability to stop on a dime and change direction, and you have the potential for a receiver who can play more than one position in your passing offense. He's a solid 1st round talent.

CONCERNS
Size will be an issue for the teams who profile negatives more than positives. Christian for the next level might be more of a “move” receiver or might impact better as a slot receiver but no matter what receiving position he plays (inside or outside) he will be an impact receiver. Christian has that Wes Welker, Julian Edelman type quickness but with a lot better down-field speed. I compare him to NE's Brandon Cook.

BOTTOM LINE
An impact player is an impact player and if you don’t want to draft an impact player because he doesn’t fit the size/speed ratio that some jack *** decided is what is needed to be a successful receiver in the NFL all I can say is, go ahead… pass on drafting Christian, I’m sure one of those teams who are in the playoffs and super bowls every year will be happy to select Christian in the first round. Most of the time players with Christian’s size, speed, and talent aren’t selected until the later rounds. There have been exceptions of course but every time one of those exceptions doesn’t make it or is considered a bust it sets back the more talented players. Christian has the bulk to go along with his size to take the pounding in the NFL. That is a BIG difference to me. The smaller/ fast receivers need that bulk to take the hits and go over the middle and not allow his opponents to be physical with them down the field. Christian has that bulk to go along with that unique speed, quickness, and excellent hands to deal with bigger corner backs who want to be physical and try to move them off their routes. Christian is a tough kid and that is what will make him an impact receiver at the next level. Bet on it.

1. Moore
2. Sutton
3. Chalk

as of right now, but I do like Kirk as well

praying dallas doesn't waste a pick on ridley

Its a huge anomaly, but for some reason, the CowboysZone has an unusual number of serious DJ Moore fanboys.

I have nothing against him....and even really like him.
But I think he is way overrated here by 5-6 very vocal posters.
Since I have no skin in game, its fine either way if hes great or not.
Of course, if we get him, so badly hope the fan club is right.

I may be in that group.
I dig him because he seems like a WR with a RB's body.
That type of body type and game is good for breaking tackles and getting YAC. In Garrett's pedestrian offense, that would help out greatly.

Who's your top WRs in this class?

I just have a hard time putting any of them at 19, other than maybe Ridley. And I'm not even fully comfortable with him.
I really like a bunch of these guys this year. they just all seem more like late 1st round through 3rd type values...to me.
There's a lot to like about Moore. But when upside is factored in, I have real hard time separating him from Sutton, Kirk, Miller, Chark, Kirk, Washington , Ateman, and Gallup.

I DO think I prefer him "for us" over most of those guys, but its not so clear cut.
Doesn't mean I'm right, but that how I see it.

Hey, at least I'm not the guys at drafttek. They put out their latest mock this week and have him in the 3rd round, with SEVEN Wrs taken ahead of him.

They have
Ridley at 16,
Sutton at 24,
Gallup at 25,
Washington at 44,
Kirk at 47
Ateman at 56
Chark at 59
Moore at 74
:muttley:

That's a bit harsh..imo
I'd be happy to take him at 50.

I would trade up in the second to get Kirk. I like him a lot too. With Moore moving up the boards eh could get within striking distance.

Honestly (and this is entirely speculative and gut feel) but I feel like moving up the 2nd is likely the best way to get great value this draft.

You are overly influenced by media draft rankings.

Not really. I just like to note various mocks for trivial board updates.
I note them but make up my own mind.

I would argue that some around here are overly influenced by CowboyZone peers and certainly the Combine.

I liked Moore and St. Brown before the combine.

I agree, I like Moore but not at 19.

I think he'll be a solid #2 but he's not a 1st rounder IMO.

Kirk played exclusively in the slot at A&M and that's where he projects as a pro. We have Beasley presently and Swizter in line to fill his spot. Kirk's a nice receiver (reminds me of Randall Cobb) but I don't think he makes sense for this team.
