I didn't see this posted on the first couple pages so hope it isn't a duplicate. Kirwan is one of my favorites mainly because he has a winter home in our area and as a result does a weekly bit on the local ESPN affiliate. I seem to learn something every time I hear him speak. This article seems especially on point for Dallas because it talks about guys that are good fits in Tampa 2. Loston is a safety I haven't seen much about, but Kirwan's talk about him being able to play for a team that they mix their safeties hit home. His point about Smallwood being a great fit in a Tampa 2 hits home because I don't know that our LB's as a whole are good at dropping into coverage.

Talking about three once in a decade type players in Watkins, Robinson and Donald has me fired up to get Donald.

I really think Donald in the first and some combination of Loston, Smallwood or Martin in the 2nd-4th would be a good start to the draft.

Actually maybe 3rd-5th as I look more at their projected rankings....Kirwan seems to have them higher than others do but the evaluations are similar.

From another article by Kirwan....the guys that he thinks are safe picks:

The draft process to drawing to a close and there are a number of players I call "safe" -- what you see is what you get and these guys are the whole package. They have talent, technique, work ethic and look like guys who understand how to handle themselves as pros.

I have interviewed well over 100 of the top picks and watched all of them on tape. Here are my top 10 safe picks and there are no quarterbacks in the group:

Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo
Zack Martin OT, Notre Dame
Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
Trent Murphy, DE, Stanford
Chris Borland, LB, Wisconsin
Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
Tre Mason, RB, Auburn

curious why guys like Robinson, Watkins and Evans (amongst others) are not considered "safe" when you include some of the others from this list

What's it going to be then, eh?

Watched a little footage of Smallwood. He is sllllllllllooooooooooow. Luckily for him this is a very thin MLB group.

I heard Borland was off a couple of draft boards because of medical. If true, don't know how safe a pick he would be.

I watched some too...like Kirwan says I don't know that he is that slow because he is kind of a glider. Pulling muscles running 40's is also kind of troublesome for a Cowboy fan.
