Cue the schmucks now who think this makes him a better "leader" than Romo.

Just because Romo is the better player does not make him a better leader.

Kitna has been around a lot more than Romo. From what I've seen this year, Kitna is the better leader.

My wife said "Who is he yelling at?" and I simply said "the rookie that got Romo killed" and than she just groaned.

:laugh2: @ Witten trying to follow Kitna's toughness.

That was pretty hilarious. He was like one of the groupies that follows the cool kid around at school and are always over their shoulder.

Your analysis of Kitna as a leader is based on what? How vocal he is in between plays? Anything else that's relevant that we're able to see as fans?

For some reason, yelling makes people leaders.

I have been around many a players and coaches. That is most certainly not the case. :laugh2:

It used to piss me off when somebody would yell at me on the football field. Especially a QB who made twice as many mistakes as I did on the field.

While I agree that a fiery personality on the field is likely to translate to a more fiery personality off of it, it's a mistake to assume that that's what people respond to in a leader.

As fans, we see things like yelling at a player who's made a mental mistake and think that's the totality of what goes into running a team. In reality, it's a very small part of it. But because it's the only part we see, we generalize our opinions based off of the evidence available to us.

A counter-example: Jason Garrett almost never yells at players on the field, yet we've heard nothing but raves about his leadership in how he took over the team. So much of running the team is preparation and intelligence and setting expectations, and providing examples, and mental toughness, and physical toughness. It's a lot more than just yelling.

To be honest, when me and my buddy who watch the games together heard Kitna yelling at Gronkowski like that, all we both said is "You have no business yelling at people for making mistakes sir trips-a-lot." Seriously, if you think the guys on offense aren't just thinking about Kitna's clumsy twice a game plays where he trips over the center or turns the wrong way to hand off whenever he yells at them, you're wrong.

I'm proud of Kitna I remember watching a lions game one year where they lost the game and the look on his face I'll never forget it. I'm glad he's here and Kitna is taking advantage of every game to shine, good for him. I think Kitna starts somewhere next year. Clearly the naysayers from pre season were wrong when saying Kitna had nothing left in the tank...HE has plenty.

Willingness to put aside "Friendships" and give instruction (yelling or not), motivate, etc... is leadership.

If Kitna doesn't yell at the rookie when he screws up, who will?

Some of you who say you'd get upset when getting yelled at on the field have pretty thin skin.

I was glad to see Kitna take charge but I will say all in all Gronk had a good game and I saw some very nice blocks from him. I think with an off season to work on his blocking he can develop into a very nice FB.

Don't forget making mean faces. If you can grimace at your players, you can lead them.

Romo had a headset on and was talking to the whole offense on the sideline during a timeout.

And they were all listening intently.
