When I was 17 or so, Kitty Wells came to a concert in my town. It was a small town, but to try to get people to the show, they hired telemarketers to call people and solicit tickets. I was one of those people, even though I hated the the whole idea of cold calling people.

I remember one man getting very angry, thinking I was trying to scam him. He said, "Kitty Wells is dead!" and hung up on me. Little did he know he was a few years too early.

RIP Kitty.
