Guess all that getting planted into turf caught up with Kiwi. Should have news tomorrow on severity.

On Wednesday, defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka left the field after going down with an injury. Kiwanuka was thrown to the ground by his Boston College teammate Jeremy Trueblood during one-on-one blocking drills, and it was obvious from the start that he was injured.
While Kiwanuka did come back and finish the session, he was held out today. Now comes word that Kiwanuka will undergo X-rays to determine if there is possible ligament damage to his shoulder. If the X-rays are negative, Kiwanuka will play on Saturday; otherwise, he will not.

Probably better for him.

He wasn't doing anything but hurting his draft stock.

He might be faking it because he feels the pressure.

I didn't read anything in there that says he's "out".

He MAY be out, but it's not for certain yet.

Scott Wright - yesterday reported: nfldraftcountdown

6:00pm Just got back from the press conference and got some pretty big news. Mathias Kiwanuka hurt his shoulder yesterday and while the X-Ray's and MRI came out fine he will not play in the game. Also on the injury front Skyler Green is probable, Demetrius Williams is out with a back problem, and Darrell Hunter is out with a turf toe. Jay Cutler will start for the North while it appears Brodie Croyle will begin the game for the South.

I didn't say you were wrong. I said there was nothing in your original post that said he was out. In fact, it specifically said he MAY be out.

No big deal anyway. Kiwi isn't on my radar.

Update:

MRI and X rays came back negative - he will not play

Appears they found a 3rd degree bruised ego. At first couches thought he was choking under the pressure of Debrick, College and Truelove constantly face planting him.

Appears there were several large pieces of sod stuck in Kiwi's trachea and upper lungs. A heimlich move took care of the swallowed turf.

Kiwi is resting uncomfortably.
