Knowing what we know now, how would you have approached the offseason after 2014? I would say 2016 but it's still not far enough back and 2014 was our last successful season before that.

I have to believe I resigned Murray instead of letting him walk, tagged Dez, and drafted heavy on defense. Maybe Romo never gets hurt in 2015.

Of course this means no Zeke and no Dak but it could mean a better defense right now, maybe a healthy Romo with an understudy and, judging by Murray's play in TN, probably a pretty good run game still.

Kind of amazing to track this front office's bad decisions.

Oh, and never sign Greg Hardy.

I wouldn't have done much differently after 2014. Murray is a good NFL back, but he lacks any single special quality justifying the money he got.

Now, what I would do differently is the 2017 offseason. I resign Claiborne for 2-3 years, go LB early in the draft and grab Desean Jackson in FA.

Well I think you are right in saying we didn't develop enough young players for the defense earlier on but I don't really have a beef with last two drafts as of yet.

Might wanna get a little more aggressive in free agency if they don't wanna tough it out while young guys gain experience.

1. Never re-signed Crawford that early
2. Use that money for Murray
3. Romo may still of gotten hurt, but better usage of that money to Murray than Crawford.

2016: Draft Ramsey and then take a flier on a RB later on.

The Crawford contract is certainly over priced.
Murray I dont care one way are another but I do think I'm taking a second look at Zeek so that
does bring Ramsey back into to focus.
But you read the cards in your hand as you play them and just getting Dak makes me stay the course.

Could you imagine if we got Ramsey and Jordan Howard out of that draft?

Would of been one hell of a draft.

Yea, getting Dak that late was very lucky. However, I feel if even if Romo was still able to play more games in 15, we would of gone after a QB in the 2016 draft.
I mean, I don't hate the course the team ended up choosing, just in hindsight I think Murray wasn't run into the ground and still would be an effective back for us, to the point where we didn't need to take one 4th overall. Randle obviously didn't have the mentality to be a starter.
