My money's still on the Bulls.

I hope he doesn't come to D.C. I actually like the Wiz a bit, and Arenas is a fun guy to watch. Kobe, on the other hand, is a d-bag.

As rumors swirl, Mavs aren't on current Kobe radar

Mercurial Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says you can count out Dallas in the Kobe Bryant sweepstakes.

During Wednesday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cuban said that the team is not pursuing a trade for the Los Angeles Lakers star.

"We haven't talked to them," Cuban told ESPN's Lisa Salters during a sideline interview. "It's not going to happen. We've got a great squad. We like it."

Cuban was asked if the team has any interest at all in Bryant.

"We're always looking for bargains, but I don't think they're going to give us any bargains," he said.

According to ESPN's Ric Bucher the Lakers are now actively looking to move the nine-time All-Star. Bryant criticized the Lakers' front office and then demanded a trade five months ago. This offseason, the two sides appeared to bury the hatchet, but Lakers owner Jerry Buss recently said that the team would listen to offers for Bryant and tensions increased.

Sources told Bucher on Wednesday that the Lakers had been in talks this week with the Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings about a possible three-way deal. The Lakers would have acquired Ron Artest and Ben Wallace. The Kings would have gotten Ben Gordon and P.J. Brown. And Bryant would have landed in Chicago.

That deal is apparently now dead.

I think Cuban is posturing for trade leverage, but he could be publicly telling the Lakers to keep the Mavs out of their mess.

Would be nice to get him to the mavs but the price is just to high though i don't really trust Cuban saying they're out of the hunt it really does seem like Chicago has the most to offer

LA wants Deng and Chicago won't give him up in a trade, and if you trust BSPN, Kobe has/will veto any trade that involves Deng going to LA.

As a huge Laker fan the best thing for the long term future of the franchise is to trade Kobe. The front office has no intention what so ever of building a championsip team, so why waste Kobe's prime and get nothing for him? They have hitched their wagon on Andrew Bynum being a super star. Won't happen. He will be a good player, but not a great one.

If they do trade Bryant, the front office is so incompitent I'm sure they won't get any good players back in trade anyway. There is a reason Kobe screamed for Jerry West to come back. West would've pulled the trigger on a Caron Butler and ending contracts for Baron Davis, or Caron Butler and ending contracts for Carlos Boozer. Jimmy and Mitch nixed the deals because Baron was too injury prone, and Carlos Boozer is not big enough to play PF in the west. Odom is more injruy prone than Davis, and Boozer is a much better PF than Odom. Of couse the Lakers trade Caron for Kwame f-ing Brown instead. Brilliant. Of course they also turned down Odom, and Bynum for Jermaine O'Neal. West would've done that trade in a heartbeat. A combo of Kobe, Baron, and JO could do a ton of damage in the league.

Once Kobe is gone they will go thru at least 3 years of being in the lottery. Take Kobe off of the team, and they are easily one of the 3 worst teams in the league.

The sooner Dr Buss is either forced to sell the team or remove his loser son from front office duties the better. Jimmy Buss has been in hiding since he boosted about how LA was going to get powerful Players this off-season. So now he just lets the wax statue Mitch Kupchak take all the heat for his stupidity.
