Not sure if this was already mentioned....I did not find it in a search....but in the current issue of DC Star magazine, K.S. has a blurb about the banners and says they will be displayed in the new Cowboys Hall of Fame that is currently in the design stages. While I do think this is cool in its own right....I know I have personally been excited about the Hall of Fame for a long time now....I also think it is kind of ridiculous that we can build the biggest stadium in the NFL but can't find a place for our championship banners.

Anyhow, mystery solved. :starspin

WRONG...they're in jerry's office so he can continue to try to fool people in to thinking he is a football guy.

I'm sorry, but those banners belong in the stadium. Fans should see them during every Cowboys home game. This idea sucks right up there with celebrating 50 years in the 51st year.

Ok, I'm not going to take a shot at you here, but I just want to ask this question.

How does one learn to be a football guy?

Do you need to have played the sport?

Do you need to surround yourself with other "football guys"?

Do you need to have a passion for the sport?

Do you need to posess some inate skill that you're only born with, like a football gene?

Jerry Jones has been the owner/GM of the Cowboys for 20 years now. He has won Super Bowls. He has been around some of the best football coaches in the league. He talks football with everyone he can to learn more. He played the game at a collegiate level.

The guy is driven and successful and surely qualifies as a football guy in my opinion.

So what will it take for you to feel the same? If he wins another Super Bowl? Does that make him a football guy, or do you just shift the recognition off to the coaches or the players?

In Madden 10, they hang off the bottom of the giant JERRYTRON TV. I guess with the ( NON ) issue of punts hitting the TV, having banners hanging off it would only increase this ( NON ) issue.

I'm not gonna say I've never blasted or even doubted Jerry but the man is looking really genius right now...

Yep. If you have five championship banners, you display them in the stadium. Not in some adjacent Hall of Fame.

He not only played, he was on a national championship team at the collegiate level. That's a pretty impressive pedigree on top of the 20 years of ownership and 3 Superbowls.

Wouldn't it be simple enough to hang the banners in the stadium and have replica banners in the team's Hall of Fame?

i dont believe the article...Jerry isnt that dumb.....especially at marketing......everyone knows the banners are to be in your home stadium...and they will be at some point.......there has to be another reason they are not up yet......Jerry would want the whole world to see them every sunday not just people who tour the facilities

I'm pretty sure I'm going to believe K.S. and a Cowboys publication over much else. Granted, things could always change, especially in Jerry's world, but I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the report.

Kristi Scales is the best source of insider Cowboys info, IMO. She comes up with some doozies. Sort of off topic, but when asked what the players do when they have to use the bathroom, her response was don't drink any yellow liquid you might see in a Gatorade cup on an NFL sideline.:
