Was rated as top 20 overall player by Dane Brugler. Had great 4th quarter tonight vs Minnesota.

Has 3.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks for the game. Had 6.5 sacks and 12.5 TFL last season

my only reason for him would be to A Smith go

Could emerge as the #2 edge in this class. Roache and Jones have alot of questions

He’s tough to project. Had a solid season last year and a good start this year. I’d be nervous taking him in the Top 10, which is where I think the Cowboys end up.

He might end up as Edge #1 with a good year. I don't think he's a top 10 player but it's a weak class for pass rushers.

Rousseau is likely a better 3T prospect and Roche is undersized.

You see Rousseau as a 3T?

I think he’s way too light in the arse for that. He’s built similarly to Osi Uminorya (sp?).

He's going to have to add 25ish pounds but he has the frame to do it. When I watch him rush from the edge I'm not impressed at all. HE wins with a bull rush but you never see him actually capture the edge and turn the corner.

I like him as a Michael Bennett type player that plays DE and DT. He's a good player...but I wouldn't touch him in the top 10/15.

Good obs I saw the same thing. But I started to wonder if that’s what they’re asking him to do? I noticed they kick him inside on pass downs...

Bennett is good comp. I think he should be better long term, but its a good comp. Rousseau biggest issues is he doesnt really have a pass rush arsenal. He is gonna have to get taught that at the next level. Sitting out isnt gonna help him make an immediate impact either. If we bring Smith back, he would be buried behind Lawrence, Smith and Gregory. And Gregory played well Sunday.

I think Rousseau will probably be the top DE taken, and could possibly be a top 10 pick. But I see a longer curve for him than most top 10 pick DE's. I think its a decent DE class, but I dont think its great with top talent. I think its deep with Yetur Gross-Matos type talents. 2nd round could be a good place to draft a DE this year

I think he can be a solid pro, but I wouldn't touch him in the top 10. As of now I see him as more of a fringe first rounder.

I only see him dropping if he has a poor combine, which is possible. Thats something teams are gonna look at. If coaching can develop his pass rushing arsenal, he has 15 sack potential. Teams aren't gonna let that slip unless there are serious red flags. Especially in a draft where there are no Chase Youngs, or Bosa's. Unless he shows up at the combine out of shape, I think the lowest he will go is around where JPP went

I just don't see the pass rush potential. IMO - guys like Bosa, Garrett and Young are 15 sack potential type prospects. In college you could see them consistently win the edge with multiple pass rush moves.

Rousseau plays with good length and power, but you never really see him dip and rip around the edge so I don't think he has the ankle/hip flex to be an elite edge defender. That's why I think he's better suited to play 3T if can bulk up.

Thats all coachable though. Miami isnt exactly the pro factory it was. The raw tools are there for him to be an elite 7T, but he needs pass rushing moves outside of just be better than the OT.

I guess what I'm getting at is what I'm missing on tape isn't coachable. You can't teach that natural elite bend around the edge guys like Bosa / Young / Garrett etc have. Sure you can teach him some new pass rush moves, but against an athletic OT he's going to have a very rough go at it.

Rousseau would fit this defense perfectly. Has a 86% rush rate from the inside.

I like the player but in no way am I drafting him in the top 10 as an edge rusher. A lot of his success in college came from the inside or just bull rushing an inferior OT.

He either needs to bulk up and play 3T or he’ll be a hybrid DT/DE.

Too much risk for how early we’re picking in the top 10.

I seen a few mocks and he seems to be in most top 8 picks and is considered the best pass rusher from the inside. We really need a guy who can collapse the pocket big time. The combine will tell all with him. Hopefully he really is 6’7 and 280+. I don’t understand the risk what are you worried about with him?
