Now that Kyle Kosier is hurt no 1 is making the line calls and look how much we struggled, we need 2 pick some 1 up that makes line calls cuz if he goes down agian then the O-line is screwed.

So the question is who can we pick up? Or is there some 1 on the team that can step up and do this???

That's what so crazy about this whole thing, after being in the system for a few years, any of the interior OL should be able to handle calls with ease.

Besides, I'm not so sure it's all the fault of the line calls. Perhaps moving Romo around may provide better results.

I swear line calls are so overrated.

These guys know their assignments as soon as they see the defense line up.

They've got to show more awareness.

NYC said it best yesterday when he said he believed these guys have tunnely vision when they lock onto their man in pass protection.

The running game really doesn't worry me right now because teams know when we're running based on our formations. It's tough to run on a team in the NFL when they know what you're about to do.

But there is no excuse for the pass protection. It's been trash this Pre-Season.

When the defense shifts is when line calls become important. Whoever does it has to do it in a few seconds- recognize what has happened and make the right calls.

When is he coming back? He has a sprained knee? 2nd week?

Kinda funny how so many people on this board are always wanting to replace Kyle Kosier. But when he goes down and the line struggles we find ourselves asking 'when will he be back'. He is a lot better guard than many here want to believe.

He's our best guard IMO

Normally, I'd bomb all over a thread like this, but didn't we see similar problems the last time Kosier went down? I remember that we struggled mightily without him, and that the entire line suffered. I don't think the issue is the line calls, because Gurode makes them, but it may be that we lose more than just pass protection and a guard who can get to the second level in the run game when Kyle goes out.

+1
I've always said trade Bigg while we can and dump his Bigg contract..................................I Hate 2 :horse: and kno :madden: but would trade Bigg and a 3rd or a 4th for Matkins and I bet Pats would take that

Kosier has proven to be an important piece of the line. Seems we take him for grantid until he is out.

Kosier does help Gurode with line calls.

Yeah, I know we've been told that. I'm sure there's something to it, though the C is the one actually making the calls. Whatever it is, there's more to it when Kosier is out than us just missing a pretty face in the lineup.

I'd like to see your evidence on that statement.
Baldinger seems to think so.

Also why else can we not pick up stunts?
