I sense that his time in SF may be coming to an end. Now I could be wrong, but if he does become available I feel he should be the first choice to replace MM. Now some people want Ben Johnson, and I would be good with that too.

Hold on to your hat but the athletic is reporting "league sources" predict MM returns. Delusion is rampant in Frisco. I do agree "rat boy" would be a major upgrade though.

I sense just the opposite .... Big injuries just took it's toll on this team, .. from MAC, Ayuk , Trent Williams, .. if healthy are the Niners a different better team.

Plus this is a offensive genius HC that has been in the SB vs eventual champs KC Chiefs, you don't take that for granted.

Injury bug got a few teams this year. Seems to be hitting Detroit now, their defense is really banged up. They can't afford to sit anyone next week either.

Interestingly no one wants to hold them accountable for the Lance failure. They sold the farm .....pretty sure they wish they had those picks now

Shanahan will be the hottest coaching prospect if the 49ers are crazy enough to pull the plug on him. I would take Shanahan over Johnson without a thought. We are going to learn more about Lynch than Shanahan if the HC is cut loose.

For all the gripes about our coaching etc this guy gets a pass. His teams have choked several times in the big game. They also just fired the DC. That will be 4 new DC’s in 4 years.

Playing in the SB last year alleviates the criticism. Now, if they have a repeat of this year next year, the criticism will build.

If Campbell trumped Shanahan...why go all in on him?

He hasnt won anything with great squads and a decent cheap QB?

Youre moving the goal posts now...its lame and disgusting.

Campbell coaching and decision making on 4th downs trumps Shanahan's, imo.

I guess you can bring offensive scheme into this...but this board wont answer why Kellen Moore schemed guys open in his 3rd year for the firest 4 games and then took it all away.

Youre a hive mind shock bot searching for shock value.

Shanahan should be old news by now. As this board states repeatedly "I want a young, offensive minded guy" ...Shanahan has been trumped by Campbell, imo.

I wouldnt chase him. I would go with someone else willing to be risky like Campbell...I liked the playing calling of the Norte Dame Coach in the first half of the National Championship.

You are talking about someone who is not even available and I guess you missed the NFCCG last year. Pay attention and get with the program. Stop embarrassing yourself.
