he is the only DB I would even look at in the first

Cant agree with you on this one at all

Berry
Thomas
Haden

The 3 above are SURE fire first rounders

Mccourty
Robinson
Allen

These 3 are All borderline 1st rounders..of which I wouldn't be that upset about if were taken at 27

Haden is definitely worth taking at 27..Robinson and Mccourty aren't far reaches either

Imagine KW and Mike Jenkins at corner for the next 8 years.

Not as high on Robinson as I once was. I dont think I would be happy taking him in the 1st.

McCourty.............I'm getting used to the idea.

Why McCourty over Robinson?

I like the this kid but he'll be gone by the time Dallas is up at 27 so no need to even worry about him...

McCourty is more physical and consistent.

To be honest with you, I have heard nothing that makes me believe Robinson is on the Cowboys radar and a lot of that would have to do with his style of play. He really does avoid contact and Phillips has stated time and again how important it is that our CB's are good tacklers and physical.

Robinson is a athletic freak but he has never lived up to his potential and this point he should be much further in his development for someone with such good natural skills.

Agree with you on Robinson.

I like McCourtney quite a bit, and I'd be fine with him at 27. But I do have one concern - maybe you can help me out.

From a physical standpoint, I think McCourtney is terrific. His special teams production is excellent - both as a returner and blocker. Maybe the best among the top DBs.

However, when looking at his stats, his CB production seems o.k. Not great, but o.k. That said, is that due to teams throwing away from him or the scheme that he played at Rutgers? I think he did have about 10 passes he broke up last season, so that's pretty good. And he was in a lot of tackles. I did read that he let receivers catch a lot of balls in front of him.

I haven't seen him play in college, so I was just wondering . . . . trying to get a better read on this player.

And that is one reason I get the feeling that Wade isn't that big a fan of Newman. Ol' softy Wade can't stand players who aren't very physical. Remember he was great friends with John Butler when they drafted Winfield up at Buffalo. And of course Winfield is one of the more physical corners in the game.

As much as he got killed for loving "teh soft-zone" his first couple years, I think if Wade had his druthers he'd want two corners like Jenkins who are great at bump and run, and he'd have them mixing it up at the line most of the time.
