But ........ but ....... he is to good ....... no way he makes it to the practice squad.

Well, teams did miss on Leary and Rico when they were released. And only Oakland was wise enough to try to get Rico while he was on the PS. Jerry paid Rico top dollar to stay on the PS.

thank the heavens, i can actually sleep now. I was living off caffeine and whatever because no way could i sleep if this stud of a defensive player wasnt contributing to the team in any value what so ever. Now that hes on the PS, no one will dare take him off and make me go sleepless again. he is now safe with us, and we can all breath better.

Good news, he showed promise and upside....I'm kind of excited for this years practice squad, I think the Cowboys will have some potential contributors going forward to develop...

wont hurt to see. its free, even if he is called up, cant do worse than what we trotted out in years past.

Well Rico was very, very raw last year. Not too many teams are willing to add a guy on their 53, just cause he's a former basketball player with NFL size. Still is raw, but improved.

So far, only Dallas missed on Rico. A big swing and a miss so far. Still holding out hope, but not expecting much. We will miss Leary.

With all young players, especially raw players like Rico, is you should be looking at what the player will be two to three years later and weigh the potential. Look at all those teams who had TEs with no upside on their roster last year who aren't even on the team any more. Rico has the talent. A team just has to be patient for one year. And Rico is ready right now in my opinion. Took him only one year to get NFL football ready. I personally think he was ready about week 8 of last year. The Cowboys were just too cautious.
