Ladies & Gentlemen... It is Commanders Week

I say: "attackers should be held accountable." You say:

Dude, do you need a Kleenex? Stop your pathetic crying.
That is pathetic. Sort of makes all of the posts where you claim moral superiority seem rather silly.

Oh I am hurt.

You compare McIver to battered women and kids and I'm supposed to genuflect to your point?

Wake up.

Because you are crying about a non issue because you do not like one of our past players ..... The only pathetic thing around here is you.

Preventing an investigation is "hindering" an arrest, whether or not charges have yet been filed. There is no requirement that charges already be filed. Now maybe prosecutors have decided that it is not worth pursuing charges in these cases. If that's the case Jones should be treated the same as everyone else, but by the letter of the law his actions were illegal.

Where do you get this stuff from? No matter how much you want to believe something doesn't make it true. Jerry Jones may have allot of juice but that didn't keep him from getting arrested for a traffic violation the day one of his grandchildren was baptised. Jerry Jones could not prevent an investigation; If the police wanted to conduct one, then they would have done it, alleged payoff or not. They had no case, not because Jerry hindered an arrest or he did anything illegal, but because they had no victim. It's really that simple.

There is a difference between not going forward with a case because of lack of evidence and because the offender doesn't need to be punished. It was pointless for the police to go forward because they couldn't have secured a conviction, but in terms of punishment and deterrence, Irvin should have been put behind bars.

 What country do you live in where the criminal justice system puts you behind bars as a deterent even with no evidence...........?

Skinsmaniac;2282125 said:
McIver, Jones and Irvin are free to settle a civil case, not obstruct a criminal one.

McIver is free to not bring charges, which he chose to do. I can guarantee you no one obstructed a criminal probe.

If it was legal then why deny it? Either they didn't do it or they did and lied about it.
I'm assuming you're refering to a payoff and you're assuming that it happened. And just because someone doesn't want to tell you their business doesn't make it illegal.

Skinsmaniac;2282125 said:
No, the DA and police saw that it was a waste of resources to go forward, not that Irvin shouldn't be punished.
That's your opinion. Michael Irvin was on probation and the incident occurred with numerous witnesses. If there was any substance to your claims, Probation probably could have violated Irvin in a heartbeat and your need for moral justice and deterrence would have been satisfied. But maybe the facts just didn't back up your conspiracy theory.

Also, if you believe that the police and the DA, who's an ellected official, wouldn't investigate suspected misconduct by one of the richest and highest profile men (Jerry Jones) in Dallas, then you are truly nuts.

The classic Hostile defense: "but he did it too mom." So we are agreed that Irvin and Jones should have been put in jail?

Sorry... I like this thread too much to let it die ;P

The funny thing, Skinsmaniac, is that you truely believe this. You respond to a thread that is about not throwing stones in a glass house yet you claim that pointing out your own teams woes as a defense. Maybe, just maybe, it was the entire point of the thread to begin with.

You, in your own silly way, are proving Hos' point. all you have are three old played out tired newspaper articles to play and replay and replay over and over again. All while turning a blind eye to your team doing the same stuff but only better. Sit and claim it as a defense but it was the entire point of the post. Don't like it, don't post in it.

You did successfully skirt all the issues Hos first brought up and came up with a new one.. but he has successfully showed you where Washington is guilty for the same crime, and then some. That is the point of the thread. You talk about wanting justice but speak of none for your players. Sean Taylor was a petty thug yet he is reveared as the best safety to ever put on a uniform now in Washington.

The entire point is know your history... you do not. The point is not defend Irvin. You 'pointed', we 'counter pointed' and you lost. Find something new (please try to make it something this decade) and come back again.

But.. But..

He turned his life around.

He found God so it made all his past transgressions moot.

He was a thug plain and simple. It was tragic that he was murdered, no one deserves that.

He was still a thug...
