Just wondering if the Cowboys decide to bring back Leary and they don't see Collins as a RT, what do you guys think we could get for him in terms of a draft pick.

I'm trying to think outside the box to see if we can package Romo and Collins and swap of 1st round picks to make a significant move up the draft board without mortgaging too much in future picks.

Its an idea but I don't like getting rid of Collins. He has some real talent and i'm not sure you would actually get a better player, even if its early in the first. Draft is a gamble.

I think Collins would be worth a 2nd or high 3rd round pick. He's proven he can play on this league, but he doesn't have a ton of time left on the rookie contract so the team trading for him would have to be able to resign him down the road.

That said I'd rather keep him either attempting to kick him out to right tackle or letting Leary walk. He was a monster in the run game and if he improves his pass blocking and stunt pick ups would be a pro bowler. He's also younger than Leary and doesn't have a degenerative knee condition.

I dont see them getting rid of Collins in any form or fashion. Forget his athleticism and upside. This is a player Jerry pulled all the stops on recruiting. If it doesnt work out, it will look bad for the organization, and to free agents on the outside looking in. I am sure a lot of promises were made to get him to sign here, so it really needs to work out.

Agree with this as well. It may be a cutthroat business but it's damned cold to trade a player who got screwed like he did on draft day and chose us out of the 32 teams.

Would the Texans be willing to part with Clowney if they offered Romo, Collins, 2nd rd pick and told them they would take Osweillers albatross of a contract? I know big trades don't happen much, but that seems like one that could benefit both teams.

I can't see them wanting to part with Clowney and I can't think of anyone wanting to take on osweiler's contract. They'll probably need to see Collins as a potential tackle also.

JJ Is emotionally invested in Collins, who to date has failed to impress due to mental lapses and a lack of strength. He is worth more time to develope and absent a trade offer too good to pass on, he is here in 2017.

They won't get rid of Collins. He seems like the best OL in that draft and the draft was filled with 1st round OL talent that year. He has All Pro potential.

If Collins is not moving to RT, then they won't re-sign Leary. They still think that Collins can be an elite OG.

Look, I bash on Collins, but the kid has some talent. What really matters is if he can get his head on straight as a player. If he can do that, you have a starting guard for years to come.

I have a feeling Leary will look elsewhere first before resigning with the Cowboys. There is no guarantee he starts next year. Hell, for me Leary is penciled in as the starter next year, but if Collins figures it out. He is far more physically talented than Leary.

Collins is the starter. Leary is gone.

In a perfect world we could keep them both, but Leary is going to make some money. You just can't give him that much when you have All-Pro type potential at the position.

I love the guy....seriously. He's a mauler and tough as hell. I want to franchise him for a year but everyone one in here says it's a no go. When we trade Romo and get his money off the books, it would be possible. I like Collins but he was hurt most of the year...which concerns me. No reason in the world he can't be taught Right Tackle and/or Left Tackel and become our swing tackle. Make '17 Free's last year and put Collins in at Right Tackle in '18. I think he could do it and do it well. Hell, I know he could. If we let Leary walk, and Collins goes down next year I don't want to rely on someone like Looney to plug in at Guard.

The Cowboys seem adamant in that Collins isn't RT material.
