LOL!

The Denver Nuggets have had preliminary discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers on a Carmelo Anthony trade, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Tuesday.

The Lakers' package would be built around center Andrew Bynum. Denver has no interest in Ron Artest and isn't particularly interested in Lamar Odom either, sources said. A straight-up deal of Bynum for Anthony works financially, but there could be other players involved since Denver would look to shed more salary if possible.

Sources described the talks as in their infancy, and a three-way deal between the Knicks, Nuggets and Wolves is very much alive.

All the Lakers need to do after this is get Dwight Howard.

That's complete bullcrap if true.

Everyone just keeps giving the Lakers players.

this is why the NBA is really shady, the lakers get all the calls and somehow end up with great players for nothing. just goes to show how great the spurs really are when the league hates them and they win regardless

******** trade for us. Forces us to play Pau at center, we all know what happened in 2008 when Pau had to play center against Boston. We don't need to make a trade. The Lakers are fine, I think some are overreacting to some bad losses in the regular season. You don't need to make a trade like this unless you lack talent which the Lakers don't. The Lakers problem is complacency.

You know, I was going to watch an NBA game for the first time since forever and I still haven't done it. I just can't force myself to do it.

yeah, definately not a given that this trade makes them better. If Bynum stays healthy, the Lakers will win the championship. Adding melo is a move towards looking towards the future.

Not for Bynum

Probably get Boggut (SP?) from the Bucks or somethin.

Well if the Lakers are willing to give up the most and take on the most bad salary, than it's not their problem.

Bynum is replaceable. Of course they would miss him this season but they'd just have to play smaller and rely on Melo and Kobe to score more and maybe play Artest at PF with Odom. Then next season they pick up a solid FA big and if they extend Melo they're going to be league favorites for a long time.

You're missing out!

As for this, I think it's just posturing by Melo's camp. He's going to NY - his wife is from there, he's from the northeast (Baltimore) it all makes sense.

I honestly doubt Melo would prefer Knicks over Lakers.

So they Lakers get a bonafide star player for a guy who seems to miss 60% of the season every year?

Bynum is dominant when healthy, but is never healthy.

Bynum is probably a 20 & 10 player on most teams, he barely gets any shots on the Lakers. If healthy he can eventually challenge Dwight Howard for top big in the NBA. I really don't want to trade him. You know he kinda reminds me of Dez Bryant. He's got so much talent and potentially could be the face of the franchise, but he has injury issues.

False. Dwight Howard is head and shoulders better than Bynum and has a baby jumper now.

The Knicks are offering junk and the Nuggets arent having that.

The Nuggets would rather rent him out or just play out the season than take the Knicks crap offer. If the Knicks insist on keeping their crap younger players theyll lose their chance at a 2nd star. Big mistake, I dont care how bad you think the fit may be, you always take stars if you have the chance.

W/ those 2 then you have CP3 and Deron fighting to be the 3rd guy.

You mess around and the Nets, Rockets, Mavs, or Magic could swoop in and get the extension

I know, I said Bynum could potentially be better than Dwight just like Dez could potentially be better than Andre Johnson.
