It depends if Melo agrees on an extension. Of he does I think it will happen if he doesn't it won't happen.

the way i look at it, the lakers don't need him. they have a pretty solid line-up with kobe, lamar odom, & derek fisher to name a few players. that's why i can't see it happening. it wouldn't be a good fit for melo.

If the Lakers did this trade, I doubt they would play Gasol at the 5 and Odom at the 4. What they would probably do is move either Odom or Artest, along with Bynum. They still have Joe Smith who could play the 4 or 5 off the bench. I'd guess the Lakers would probably go out and get a rebounding Center who can play good defense. They don't really need a scoring Center with Kobe and Anthony. Another option could be for the Lakers to use Kobe at Point, use Artest at Shooting Guard, Anthony at SF, Odom at PF and Gasol at C. That lineup would make the Lakers very fast in their front line and allow for them to rebound at every position.

Haha might as well go ahead and close this thread because there is no way in hell this deal is going own now. Bynum showed the world tonight why he is one of the best young players in the NBA. He absolutely dominated the Boston bigs tonight. Bynum is gonna be a Laker for a long, long time.
