Lakers sold for $10B - How much could the Cowboys sell for?

Because I’ve seen this discussion many times between Cowboys fans. Since you are an Eagles fan, which one (and you have to choose only one) would you rather the Eagles face-a Cowboys team with Tony Romo or Dak Prescott (assuming they were playing their best ball and both teams were pretty even talent wise)-and why?

How are these teams going from 4B to 8B in like 3 years.

Seems like I'm just being told numbers

Cowboys went up like a billion every 2 years

Cowboys must be worth double that which makes our next ownership situation dicey. Not many people can afford to pay 20B. Basically, we are looking at Elon Musk or some kind of Middle East oil money.

Hypothetical...let's see the responses to this question...

LETS ASSUME JERRY AND THE COWBOYS REVENUE IS HEAVILY TIED TO SPORTS MEDIA DRAMA...

if someone was to buy...wouldn't they be buying based off that revenue from drama?

Usually buyers see room for growth.

That would mean it would be more status quo or get even worse.

Who would buy the Cowboys based on current revenue if they weren't planning on maintaining that cash stream?

Who would buy the Cowboys for an inflated price and run the team like a team trying to win. But that means a serious hit to revenue.

Seems like fans are screwed here.

If you want to buy the Cowboys and turn the team around....you have to way way way over pay because your revenue stream will take a big hit trying to win and cutting out the drama.

Someone is going to say the sports media revenue Jerry generates isn't factored into the Cowboys valuation.

after Jerry if Jones family wants to sell then can easily get 30 billion,it's the most popular franchise and the most profitable franchise in the world.

The problem with Jerry is that he wants to be bigger than the Cowboys. He will never sell the team, his ego won't even let him get out of the way and hire a GM cause he wants his name in headlines so bad.
Yeah when you use the word the problem you're already off base you need to stay in your lane yeah telling a grown man that he has a problem owning the Dallas Cowboys and not wanting to sell it because it was his dream to own it and you're telling this billionaire whose passion is to own the Dallas Cowboys that he should sell it because it would help you feel better...

Realize the bus family owned the Lakers from 1979 and they had their ups and downs and they finally broke down and sold that's ten more years than Jerry's own the Cowboys so maybe in 10 years the Cowboys sell maybe you'll be happy then but until then stop telling Jerry that there's an issue with him owning the team because he won't sell it to make fans happy...

I mean this is a hypothetical but this is more than a business for Jerry this was his ultimate passion his ultimate dream the fact that he's living his dream people have a problem with and I find that sad for every one..

Since we're speaking of hypotheticals you should be really careful on what you would wish for look what happened with the Maverick simply selling a majority ownership picking their GM and when he do go and get rid of Luca for a cup of coffee he got just absolutely robbed and I mean embarrassed in that trade that's what that real GM over there did and I believe there's more bad things coming for The Mavericks because of that move..

Jerry the owner is not the problem and you may not love Jerry the GM but bad things could happen when you sell the team and I know it's crazy and we're speaking hypotheticals but what if they decided they didn't want to play at AT&T stadium they wanted to move the team because AT&T is owned by the city of Arlington and Leases back by the Cowboys that means they're not stuck in Arlington they're not stuck in DFW something really crazy can happen we can end up with an owner that doesn't care about Dallas Cowboy traditions and try to some move the team maybe to Oklahoma or San Antonio or somewhere crazy we haven't thought of you need to be careful because wanting new ownership could lead to worse things that we've had here...

I'm only saying this in hypotheticals people are going to come back and say 0 there's never that won't happen like there's no way they would change Dallas tradition and move out of Dallas no I'd say that is a very good possibility nowadays you'll have even bigger billionaires that are worth more than Jerry that decides he doesn't care about tradition and wanted the team to play in his favorite city in his favorite state... Fact is he could build his own new stadium..

I'm all those people that you should really be careful on who the no ownership is of these teams because they don't have any loyalty they will not be held by the league to tell them they can't move they can make it hard but we had this slight discussion and it was kinda stupid that Kansas City could move out of Kansas City and come back here for to their roots but there's no way both teams were to fit in that scenario dallas would have had to leave...

Anybody in here thinks it's cool that Dallas leaves and think it'll be somewhere else here in DFW be careful what you wish for..

Now there's no way they'd get that now you're going to extremes even in a hypothetical situation yes they can get more than the 10.1 billion it's worth but probably somewhere in the 12 to 15 billion area..

The main reason for that and it also might be a selling point is they don't own the stadium they did help build it they paid for 300 million or so to have it help built but Arlington is the actual owner and Jerry leases it so the stadium value it can't be put into this..

So you're not going to get to overpriced the sale by saying the AT&T is worth more even though Arlington might relinquish its rights for the right amount of money maybe the new ownership wants to move the team be careful..

There's no way he's getting thirty billion dollars... No one's paying three times the work of something especially when a stadium is not involved they're going to build their own stadium and today's economy that's probably going to cost them three billion dollars or more....

This is true but who thought the buss family would ever sell the Lakers they literally have owned the Lakers since 1979 it has the same type of tradition and aura and yet they did it.

There may be a time where he has enough or crazier and yet not out of the equation as he's getting up in age he might pass away and maybe Steven sells the team.. I doubt it but why this fan base even wants this to happen you might be careful of what you wish for because it could end up being someone who's not loyal and moves Dallas out of DFW...

We may not like Jerry the GM and you're hoping for a new ownership so you can have a new GM but you saw what happened with the Mavericks and Luca Doncic that's what happens when you have an ownership that's not loyal to the players in the city... I don't know if that story is over yet someday they can move the Mavericks to Las Vegas and I and I know it's just crazy to think that somebody would be dumb enough to move Dallas into another city like Oklahoma or San Antonio or out of Texas completely but it can happen that possibility is there if you get an ownership group that just doesn't give a **** about tradition it wants his new toy he's probably going to be worth three to four times more than Jerry in order to pay that much for this team..

Some of y'all need to keep in mind the negative effects of a new ownership comes in here...

I don't think the lakers own Staples Center, somebody will pay 30 billion for owning the Cowboys- may not be American though.

The team cannot be moved, or even sold, without the consent of the other owners. No way any entity would purchase the Cowboys and give up NFL franchise rights to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area. You’ve achieved a new level of absurdity. No small feat at this forum.

Wth are you even blabbing off about? Who said I had a problem with Jerry owning the Cowboys lmao. I said the issue was that he wants to be bigger than the Cowboys. I aint reading that whole novel you wrote.

Pretty wild looking at the top 10 net worths these days.

Some, like Bezos has been rumored at buying a team at some point. Not sure about Zuck or Elon have any want to do so. Nor would I want either, too.

Would assume Jerry will die as owner, but curious to see how his family sees the team. Sure they are loaded now, but that potential sale would make everyone billionaires liquid wise. Pretty sure Jeanie lost a power struggle among all 4-5 siblings and 10bil was hard to turn down.

I feel sad for anybody who believes what they see in this area of a forum is a novel if that's what you think a novel is again I feel bad for you......

Hey Google what is the definition of a novel here's the definition of novel
a fictitious prose narrative of book life typically representing character and action with some degree of realism
hey Google how many characters are there in a novel
on the website for plexity.ai they say while there's no single definitive answer estimates suggest that a typical novel contains between 450,000 and 540,000 characters including letters spaces and punctuation this range is based on the average novel length of 70,000 to 120,000 words with about five to six characters per word...

Yep talk to text even works when you say Hey Google and now I've hopefully resolved the issue of you thinking there's even a paragraph in there let alone a novel but keep reading children's books and believing your reading novels we get it probably has pop ups in everything you come with crayons is that the restaurant you go to the ones that give you something to draw on...

:popcorn: :facepalm: :muttley: :laugh::lmao::lmao2:

Cowboys would sell for $2 pesos, side drink and bowl of chips n salsa. ... ;).
