Where does Lamar Jackson go in this draft?

He seems to be the floating QB.

Is he a top 15 lock or will he slip?

Darnold
Rosen
Allen
Mayfield
Jackson?

Will there be 5 QBs in the first 18 picks?

I think for the vast majority of cases, you can expect QB's to go higher than expected due to the sheer importance of the position.

However, the news of Jackson scoring a 13 on the Wonderlic has to raise a few eyebrows. This is not an offensive lineman we're talking here - a QB must have quick and sharp decision-making skills, something that the Wonderlic does a solid job at assessing. I understand standardized tests are not everyone's forte, but my goodness, a 13? I suspect he will be late 1st round, early 2nd.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he goes 15 or higher, but certainly not a lock.
Id say he's a lock to go in the 1st round though.
He's an extremely unique talent.

If he does go before us, and then if maybe RB Guice gets in there too, we're going to possibly land a ringer.

Btw...Theres even a chance the OK State guy goes in RD 1. 6 QBs in the first would be insane.

I had a higher grade on Dak and had him as a second or early third. I still view Jackson as a WR project I would draft in the 5th.

Offensive linemen are the highest-performing group on the Wonderlic.

He did not seem that impressive toady at his pro day, to me at least.

hilarious

How did he look?
Well 1st off his receivers are pretty bad, they dropped like the first 5 of 6 passes. He took everything from under center to show that he could. Announcers said it was a pretty good day. IMO he was ok, when I watched Josh Allens pro day you could see that the ball just explodes out of his hand, much more impressive to me but maybe I just like a cannon for an arm.

I think he will go late 20's with the possibility of a team jumping back in the 1st round to get him.

His poor Wonderlic and reported lack of whiteboard smarts really bother me. QBs have got to have it between the ears, and from what I've seen, that's probably the #1 factor that makes or breaks a player. Recently you've got guys like Dak and Watson who've been able to adjust from scramble-heavy college systems because they're intelligent enough to adapt and learn a pro offense, and you've got about a billion Blaine Gabberts, Vince Youngs, Paxton Lynchs, etc who had all the tools but could never read a defense or handle a pass rush.

Jackson's gutterball accuracy is also really concerning, as that is a trait that rarely improves from college to the pros. But he is a hell of an athlete - I hate projecting guys that win on athleticism to the pro level, but I could easily see him out-running NFL linebackers. Remember Robert Griffin before he blew his ACL - that's his ceiling, and it's pretty scary. I just see some major things preventing him from getting there.

The Michael Vick comp he usually gets seems to make sense. But there's two things - Vick was an absolutely special athlete and I don't think Jackson's on that same level, and even then, Vick wasn't a very good QB for the majority of his career. So dial Vick back a notch, and I think you have pretty mediocre QB with a high risk of busting.

I'm thinking RG3.

Season-long, top draft QBs, % of aimed passes deemed catchable (min 200 atts)

1. Baker Mayfield 84.1% (best in NCAA)
2. Josh Rosen 77.9%
3. Lamar Jackson 77.6%
4. Sam Darnold 74.1%
5. Josh Allen 70.8% (92nd out of 100)

The only guy on this list that would give dak any real competition is Baker Mayfield, if he falls to 19 don't be shocked...it would be like passing on Drew Brees.

How often does athletic, might need to move to WR type QB work out in the NFL?

They are usually just not smart enough.

Also, he only weighs 200.
