Why has the media made such a big deal about his draft position? They are treating Ozzie Newsome like he is some kind of draft hero for trading up to get him. I don't understand why Jackson was treated like he had top five potential and he was falling for no reason. The truth is that Jackson is not a first round QB talent. Aikman had commented that he didn't see a first round QB when he watched film. They are still talking about the Jackson pick as one of day one's best moments. Again , I don't understand why.

Because it's Ozzie.

He is smart for recognizing that Flacco is not what they thought he was and is willing to make a move now instead of waiting 3 years like Jerry would.

Wasn’t he also the guy who gave Flacco the incredibly expensive contract he has grossly under performed?

Mistakes are going to be made, how you handle them says more to me.

That acted like he was a sure fire Hall of Famer that teams were passing up because they didn't have the courage to sign him.

... just like what happened to Michael Sam. Imagine the NFL today if the Rams didn't have the courage to give him a shot.

Exactly. I thought maybe it was me, but I am glad that you see this media HOFer . The media was doing everything they could to shame a team into taking Jackson. I don't know why. He is a running QB with accuracy issues. Those type of QBs are very common and they don't make it at the pro level very often.

I think a lot of it had to do with the Josh Allen hype. They both had accuracy issues, but Lamar faced better competition, had I think was the highest drop percentage from WRs, and has a more layered profile when considering he can actually do something other than throw the ball as he can run it with great success. Allen had size and he can throw it really hard.
I personally think Lamar was the better prospect, but at this point, only time will tell. They were both first round picks in the end.

Because for whatever reason it seems like Lamar Jackson is being penalized for being a great athlete. For instance, Josh Allen positives are his size and arm strength.....weaknesses are....accuracy.....If Lamar Jackson was a big stiff and couldn't run he probably would've been drafted higher and considered a quarterback.

If you don't like Lamar Jackson that is a fine. I personally didn't like any of this quarterbacks. But all of these guys are raw and projects. None of these guys are going to start day 1 and dominate. Lamar is no different than the guys that got drafted ahead of him. They did it with Deshaun Watson last year. Anyone that saw Watson knew those guys ahead of him head and shoulders better than him. People ignored the tape on Watson for whatever reason.

If Baker Mayfield is a 1st overall pick...surely Jackson is a top 15 pick...but I won't hold that against teams. Browns are idiots. Had two shots to get the pick right and still screwed it up. You could at least justify what they did when they drafted Weeden and Richardson.......you can't justify what they did last night.

Josh Allen isn't half the athlete Jackson is and he also has accuracy issues...didn't stop him from getting drafted early.

Shut up

Flacco has been garbage for years.

The media want to pretend because of his skin color he wasn't drafted as high as the other QBs...Allen might have accuracy issues as well but his ceiling is higher than Jackson's.
What do you expect from a predominantly left leaning media? They're gonna make as much as possible about race, sexual orientation, etc, etc.
I can promise without a doubt that if teams viewed him as a franchise QB they would've done ANY and everything to go get him regardless of his skin color.

You can take your drivel where it's welcome. Nobody has the time, let alone permission to unpack your very nuanced view of things. Shoo!

That should have been your response.
