Surprised he was first mention by Jourdan Lewis in his ranking of receivers

On who's going to replace Dez: "We've got some dawgs though, we've got a lot of guys that can play. Lance Lenoir he's definitely one of the guys that's underrated. Some of the young guys are underrated. Allen Hurns is pretty good too. So we've definitely got some talent." .. Jourdan Lewis, from vid on Cowboys.com yesterday or day before. ..

David Helman said watch out for him.

For a UDFA / small school guy he got some play last preseason, two TDs. Unlikely guy to make it, but you never know ..

Broaddus last June went over his tape. He sounds like Dez, smaller version:

"Report: Highly-decorated receiver out of the Missouri Valley Conference. Undrafted free agent that doesn't process great timed speed -- but one of the toughest guys I've studied.
Lenoir is physical in every sense of the word. He competes with a chip on his shoulder. He lives to mix it up with the defensive back and plays with a passion. This guy goes hard on every play. He also shows the mental toughness you like in your players.
As mentioned, his speed is not great and his route running tends to be all over the place. He's limited in the routes he executed scheme-wise -- slants, curls and screens. Best when he has free access. When defenders jam him along the line, it will cause him problems because he doesn't have the quickness to escape off the snap. He is a bully to free himself. I would not call him smooth in the way he runs routes. He will need to be tightened up – his elbows and knees are all over the place.
I saw a nice reception in the Northwestern game along the sideline where his body control and concentration helped him high point a ball. I don't see a reader of coverages – tends to run the route and works to get open. Catches the ball in his hands. Doesn't fight it. Fights for extra yards with ball in hands. He's not going to run away but will run over. He will also run "Jet-Sweeps" but just not very elusive.
You will fall in love with his nastiness and catching ability but his lack of speed will give you pause. More good traits than poor ones."

There's a reason they kept him despite his poor preseason work on special teams.

Yeah, that was amusing. He went Lenoir, and then, 'Hurns looks pretty good, too.' :)

Lenoir looked good enough to make a bad WR roster to me last year. He's reportedly beefed up and is coming for Noah Brown's spot. Guys like Thompson and Terrence better bring it to camp. We don't have really good WRs, but we've got a lot of potentially average ones. If you're older and average, look out.

If Lance Lenoir is our best WR, we are in a lot of trouble.
If Lewis is finalizing the roster, troubles aplenty.

This reminds me of last season when they made that comment about Gathers "nobody can cover him". That did not instill a lot of confidence in the secondary.

If Lewis thinks Lenoir is special, wait until he sees some of the guys on the other teams.

Until this season wr coaches just helped lineman coach Garrett's offense. Linehan will have more autonomy this year and Lal will have meaningful input. Stephen has mandated it. We'll see.

We need to sign T freaking O!!!!

I can't locate that quote, story or mandate, can you provide a link or anything. Not being a smart butt, I really looked and can't find it.

My prediction is Lenoir makes the 53 and TWill doesn't because of cut/IR/suspenion or some combination of the three.

I guess the players are supposed to say the player across from him sucks like no other. Maybe a few more Cowboys fans will be happier if a player said that instead...

They were right, and no one on opposing teams could cover him in the preseason. The issue with Gathers was/is blocking and not receiving.

Probably a good friendship built between the two, and so it's the first name up. See it all the time.

Haha...yeah, Lenoir is the worst punt returner I've seen n a minute. Not bad at WR tho.

I think this bodes well for Lenoir. Remember, Jourdan Lewis played just about every game last year and went up against some real good receivers. For him to single out Lenoir is telling.

The Cowboys have had a lot of success with undrafted receivers over the years, from Drew Pearson to Miles Austin. Lenoir wasn't drafted because he was a small school guy that didn't blow scouts away with size and speed, but to my untrained eye, there's a bit of Pierre Garcon in his game.
