I remember him in Chicago. He was actually really good. Probably the best O-lineman they had on a porous O-line. He was in line for a long term deal, however, he suffered a really bad knee injury last year. With the dolphins cutting him so soon after signing a $1.6 mil deal really shows me this isn't the same guy in Chicago. I'll pass.

My #1 preference is obvious, but I would take a look at Ramon Harewood before Louis.

And Jeremy Trueblood before I wold keep Demetrus Bell.

Isn't Harewood more of a power man blocker?

Just bring in a guard. $1.5 million is nothing for the insurance of an injury that could devastate our offensive line. You've made the commitment with Frederick and Smith in the draft, now go get a decent guard and get of Livings.

I am for anything that makes sense. This probably makes more sense than certain guys that may make the roster.

Miami has a ton of problems on the OL and are cutting a guy? I am thinking it means the guy is not ready to play.

I looked at Lance louis, the Phins may bring him back because they dont want to guarantee his full 1.6 million salary,it may be a good idea to check him out.

Isn't Harewood more of a power man blocker?

Based on appearances, I would say yes, but he did have enough mobility to play tackle at the college level so I think he might have good enough feet and mobility to play in a more zone-based scheme.

My thinking is that if they feel Bernardeau is acceptable, the bar is set pretty low already.

I don't think the Cowboys are going to bring in any other guards.

Bern is an acceptable backup. Kowalski, when he's played and done fine. ASSUMING Leary is capable of going in week 1, I don't think the Cowboys make a move for another guard.

'Acceptable' 'Fine'

These are the standards some of us have apparently lowered ourselves to when it comes to the offensive line.

Can't we shoot for better?

Aim a little higher?

Low standards is what got us into the mess we've dealt with for over a decade.

I would like to continue to dig out of that hole.

In every way that we can.

You got $2 in your pocket. You can get a 8 pack of Ramen noodles or a small fry & cheeseburger at McD's or a frozen pizza.

That's the Cowboys cap situation. Filet mignon is off the menu.

I see a post that says $8 million.

And the guys being cut wouldn't cost you as much as $2 million.

Any extra space can be rolled into next season... And next year's situation is not looking too rosy.

And Lance Louis was awful in 2011. 3rd worst OT in the NFL.

those folks who want to cut livings might want to look at the cost of cutting him first.unless a true upgrade becomes availible i don't see us signing a guy. why spend more money on a guy who is no better than what you have? and i don't think any true upgrades will become availible
