He was originally drafted by the Vikings in 1965 and traded to Dallas in 1967.

Rentzel topped 900 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons with Dallas, including a 1,009-yard campaign in 1968 and a 960-yard season in 1969, when he led the NFL with 12 touchdown receptions. He earned All-Pro recognition in 1968 and helped Dallas reach consecutive NFL Championship Games.

RIP, sir, best to your family

Caught a 50 yard half back option TD pass from Dan Reeves in the Ice Bowl. Would have been one of the most famous plays in Cowboys history had they hung on and won. Married to Joey Heatherton at one time. Off the field issues prompted the trade to the Rams where his career ended. Overall had a solid career considering offenses back then were about 50/50 run/pass. RIP.

Sorry to hear of Lance Rentzel passing away. When he was acquired from the Minnesota Vikings in 1967 it gave the Cowboys Passing Game a talented WR to go with Bob Hayes and made them one of the top WR duos in the NFL.He ran excellent routes, had terrific hands and was good in the Red Zone.Hopefully he found Peace in retirement.

Rest in Peace Lance and hope You and "Speedo" are still laughing at those Coverages the DB's are trying to use to attempt to cover You guys.

Real dirt bag. He was born in the wrong time I guess....

I was going to post; " yup, exposing oneself to a 10 year old went out of style in the 90s" but I thought the better of it and decided not to.

Not proper decorum.
Its never OK but nowadays certain folks will give it a free pass.

How? One is considered a top 100 player all time and HOFer. The other is Rentzel. You wouldn't confuse them if you saw Alworth play.
Just the names. I didn't see either play, but I know about Allworth.

How many Lances have played for the Cowboys? How many in the NFL for that matter?

And there isn't a chance Allworth is a top 100 player of all time. He's not even in the top1000.

Saying that Lance Alworth is not even in the Top 1000 players of all time is a Top 10 worthy ignorant statement.

Your embarassing yourself. I have seen Alworth play he was great. NFL network listed him top 100, and I certainly believe it But this is the question you need to ask yourself....how many players that were only top 1000 in their sport make their HOF? There is plenty of highlights on Youtube including the TD he caught in SB6.
