WR Route TreeKnow what Hyatt ran on the field?
Haven’t found anything on him but I’d imagine it’s up there…Know what Hyatt ran on the field?
Hyatt clearly has speed and athleticism.WR Route Tree

Is there a bit of positional fixation here? You're looking at it from the wrong perspective, start with Dak, add in the possible scheme and find the receiver that best fits....can you imagine Dak throwing to Johnson knowing he's not going to contest the ball?Probably so depending on who else is available…
I get the concerns with Johnston but he still has loud traits and produced.
The problem last year was too many contested throws because our WRs couldn’t separate. We want less contested catches. Johnston’s burst and speed scream someone that will be a good separator with a little refinement in route running. Is there a bit of positional fixation here? So how did Dak (receiving corp) do so well late on vrs Eagles and Buccs. I see it as more nuanced than the, get receivers with speed and separation. It's more to do with breaking down a zonal defense. Which suits Dak??? The long ball to a quick receiver (with dubious hands) or to play it close and improve the run game. The problem last year was too many contested throws because our WRs couldn’t separate. Dak, and every QB, want WRs that can separate and finish.
Bc he played out of his mind those games and didn’t play at the same level vs the 49ers.So how did Dak (receiving corp) do so well late on vrs Eagles and Buccs. I would say we've added Cooks that gives us a 'difference' weapon down and across the field....we need to now bring the secondary down (something we struggled to do vrs 9ers and Comms).
I disagree with just about everything you said, starting with Pollard going down being the pivotal reason for the 9ers loss and ending up with an obsession with speed down the field isnt separation and if you think Dak's just good, then going long isnt usually his strong suit.Bc he played out of his mind those games and didn’t play at the same level vs the 49ers.
That was the problem last year. The FO trotted out Lamb and a bunch of Jags and wanted Dak to be Brady last year which he isn’t capable of doing. He’s a great QB but he isn’t elite. That’s why you get elite games like Philly and SF and then a bad game like SF. Asking him to sustain that level of play isn’t doable…especially with a crap WR room.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at. All QBs need WRs that can separate and finish…that’s like football 101.
Now we need to bring the secondary down? I’d say the opposite. Having big time speed threats forces your safeties to play back and even your Lbs to an extent which opens up the short / intermediate pass game AND the run game.
I’m having a little trouble understanding what you’re saying here but I never said anything about obsessing over speed.I disagree with just about everything you said, starting with Pollard going down being the pivotal reason for the 9ers loss and ending up with an obsession with speed down the field isnt separation and if you think Dak's just good, then going long isnt usually his strong suit.
That's hardly putting words in your mouth, you probably dont see how often you mention speed, but then again you do obsess with wanting a WR, just dont agree with the value at 26.I’m having a little trouble understanding what you’re saying here but I never said anything about obsessing over speed.
I explained the important of speed and how all QBs like WRs that can separate and finish.
I also said Daks great, not good. Throwing deep is zero concern.
Totally cool if you want to disagree but putting words in my mouth that I didn’t say for your argument is a pretty bad look.
even late in the 1st round, i don't see why we're taking a #2 WR - and that is whoever this pick would be. given that we landed cooks in FA, taking a risk at WR just seems stupid.Hyatt clearly has speed and athleticism.
But people acting like this kid is Chase or even Jefferson or Lamb coming out of college are going overboard. Hyatt has some issues that make him a risky pick. He's operated under a limited route tree. Scouting reports note that he seems to struggle with zone defense, often showing a lack of feel for being able to find the soft spots in zones and settling down (often running himself into coverage areas). I read a few that wonder about his ability to get by press coverage in the NFL.
These are some red flags. Doesn't mean Hyatt can't become a really good NFL WR but people are acting like this dude is a no brainer.
