Oklahoma QB Landry Jones announced that he will stay in school for a fifth year in 2012.

OU's all-time leading passer with 12,389 yards and 93 touchdown passes, Jones holds 21 records in total for the Sooners. Projected for the middle of the first round early in the season, Jones showed poor decision-making down the stretch while watching his draft stock plummet. With Jones and USC's Matt Barkley out of the picture, Matt Flynn and "bridge" QBs such as Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell will be in greater demand.

The price for Luck/Griffin just shot through the roof as if it was not already expensive.

Tannehill has a big smile on his face .

I think it's a good move for Landry. His game could benefit. Will the Sooners be a BCS contender next year?

Garrard too, imo.

As for Jones; I thought he could benefit from another year even more than Barkley.

And then there were two. The Colts have got to be thinking about this. If they could get someone to give up 2 firsts and a second; or better yet 3 firsts, one would have to think about it. They need so much they could trade down for even more picks in the first two rounds. Potentially they could if done right do what we did with the Herschal Walker rape of the vikings.

There's still a lot of interesting QB prospects. I'd like Cousins or Kellen Moore.

I thought you could only play 4 years?

Jones redshirted as a freshman in 2008. He became the starter in '09 after Sam Bradford was injured. 2012 will be his fourth year as a starter.

I think it is a smart move by him. I think he could use one more year to get a little more consistent.

Brainpaint, many of us Sooner supporters are in agreement with your statement. Hopefully, he remains healthy, has a good season, and then has a nice NFL career!

Really? I think it was a bad move. Had he declared, I think there was a definite possibility that he went top ten, either to Washington or Miami. At worst, he could've went top 15 to either K.C. or Seatlle or maybe even the Cards. And yes, he could probably improve his stock some, but he can also have a down year or suffer an injury. Risky move.

Nope, he made the right move. His stock dropped late in the year, and he was probably looking at being a late first rounder. He has a big year and he could challenge Barkley for top QB next year, maybe even 1st overall which isn't happening this year. His stock won't get any lower.

If the skins miss out on trading up for RG, I think they'd jump at the chance to draft Landry even if it is a reach. Matt Moore's been solid, but I don't think they hesitate improving the position. Don't underestimate teams desperation for QB play. And I get your point about challenging for the top spot, but to walk away from a potential top ten selection is pretty ballsy.

Don't be surprised if the Commanders try and assemble a better supporting cast for their next QB and leave sexy Rexy in place for another year. They have plenty of holes to fill besides QB. We've seen what happens when you drafta young QB and don't have the Oline, Wr's and RB to take the heat off.

Garrard will be 34 going into next season while Campbell will be 30 and Orton will be 29 when the season starts. I do think he can be useful to a team, but I don't see him as a bridge. Especially coming off of back problems.
