I can't get over the fact that Zack Martin is older than Tyron.Off topic: I still think it's insane that he's older than Tyron.
That's too bad for the Eagles They are going in to training camp with not much depth on the OL. I doubt Lane Johnson will be getting a lot of reps in preseason. They have to get some other OT ready in his place so Johnson may only get limited reps and then he will be totally away from football for 4 weeks. That is a long time to be away. The OL needs to develop chemistry. Also, the Eagles have to hope they stay healthy on the OL through training camp. Another injury on the OL and it could be panic time.
What is nice is that one of their stars has to resort to cheating to succeed. And he is one more mistake away from a year suspension. Is the 1st time busted for PEDs a 4-game suspension or is it his second time getting caught for PEDs?
The real nice thing, is that, while the Eagles had the consensus best OL in the league last year, they are an old bunch.
We've seen 1st hand what can happen to a good OL when they just get older with our group from the BP years before they faded from 08-09 and then fell off a cliff in 2010.
And here were their ages at that time:
LT: Adams 34
LG: Kosier 31 (the only one to return for 2011)
C: Gurode 30
RG: Davis 31
RT: Colombo 31
By comparison:
LT: Peters 32
LG: Mathis 32 (will be 33 before the season is over)
C: Kelce 26
RG: Herremans 31(will be 32 before the season is over)
RT: Johnson. (24)
Their 2 best players will likely decline (LT,LG), and at any moment could actually see a steep steep decline in play. Add to it that Johnson didn't come along that quickly last year and may be stunted this year because of his suspension, and things are not looking ideal for the Eagles.
consensus best O line? I call BS on that
Look how excited we get when a slightly above average RT misses 4 games imagine how they feel about Sean Lee missing a full season
