League sources report late Tuesday night that the Cleveland Browns are showing a great deal of interest in Nicholls State cornerback/return specialist Lardarius Webb.
The Colonel All-American defensive back, who is projected to be selected in the third round of the this weekend’s college draft, was visited at his home in Opelika, Ala., by Cleveland Browns defensive back coach Jerome Henderson.
Henderson, who played pro football for eight seasons in the NFL as a defensive back with the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets, spent most of the day Monday and Tuesday interviewing Webb at his Alabama home.
The Browns currently do not have a selection in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft, but they do have the fourth pick in Round 4, the 104th overall selection. The Browns do have two second round selections in Saturday’s draft, the 36th overall pick and the 50th overall selection.
Reports are that the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints along with the Cleveland Browns have shown the most interest in Webb.
