No Wentz and we riot.

But if they took Tunsil it would literally be the most talented offensive line I've ever seen. Smith Collins Frederick Martin Tunsil. Are you kidding me? Every single one of those guys is an All Pro.

Or we could trade back and take the other tackle and it wouldn't be much different. I am hearing that the top two OT are sort of 1A and 1B type of players. Either would be great.

OK we gave smith 100 million contract then we give Fredbeard a 70 million contract
then we have Martin coming up in a couple of years then the Rookie 3 years down the road
now we get another heavy contract .Those are pro bowl type players with heavy money due.
I cant remember Smiths yearly cap impact but it's over 10 million so lets say each of the others
is 8 million. thats over 40 million spent on five positions [probably more] thats is not sustainable.

Now theres the QB salary cap, The defensive ends, the CBs ect ect ect.
There are 47 other player that have to be paid
money doesn't work

Or you could look at the amount of money spent on the OL and say why not? You might not be able to afford to keep all of them forever and you solidify the line for quite some time if Tunsil is as good as advertised.

Oline takes a while to gel is the old axiom. Spending high assets on short term
gains is a philosophy generally seen as not prudent.

I think they only way they go offense in the first is if it is a QB they like or they trade down and take Elliot.

Otherwise this first round is on Defense come hell or high water.

Just my opinion.

It's all how a contract fits in each year. But you pay for what you get. If one doesn't want the very best offensive line in the business, he should go back to 1920's era football.

If you have the opportunity to take a guy who can be a cornerstone for a decade, you would be foolish not to take him. I would still prefer a QB, but it would be hard to call drafting a prospect like Laremy Tunsil a wasted pick.

assets include first round picks but either way too much resources on one position isnt good
distribution over entire team

One either believes BPA and top blue chippers, or not.

Doug Free only has this season on a contract basis. A replacement would be on his 'rook' contract for four seasons and an option for a fifth. No, that is being smart.

Sounds like Premature Speculation... DT position is in need of serious talent and youth infusion.

(chuckling to self) At the movie, two buckets of popcorn; three large cokes; and a big box of chocolate covered raisins, please...

BPA at the top of one's draft, isn't anything else, but correct procedure...period.

To everyone saying we can't afford/shouldn't sign him him due to extending other guys on the line, what happens if/when we can't keep one of those guys? Tunsil would still be under his rookie deal so we would still be ahead of the game.

Not to mention the second tier contracts of All Pros is still the savings way to proceed.
