Has anyone heard if Larry has approach Jerry about retiring as a Cowboy?

IDK, But theres no doubt in my mind that he will.

It would be surprising to me if Jerry didn't do this. As we all know he is a faithful person.

Done deal as soon as Larry realizes that he cannot steal anymore money from the NFL.

He was the best OL the niners had last season. If he's stealing money, then so is 65% of the league.

Wow did not know this.. Cause he was horrible his last season in Dallas. He could not get passed the first level.. Niners must have a terrible line.

Allen isn't as mobile as he was. That's for sure. But he wasn't terrible his last year here. Just not as dominating as he once was.

I'm not saying anything negative about the greatest OL the Cowboys every saw and that includes Mr. Wright. Not to mention, IMO, the greatest OL the NFL ever saw.

You have to qualify this. There were better linemen than Larry in Cowboys history, they just didn't sustain it as long. Larry was a damn good guard for 10+ years, and few (if any) players can say that. But at his peak, there were better than Larry. Not a knock, it's just truth.

His play fell off a lot last season, the year before that though, he was very good for them.

I think he got lazy the last couple seasons with us. But, it looked like he played better with S.F. Probably, because he had to live up to that contract a little more. I thought he was ok last year in S.F.

At his best LA was one of the top GUARDS of all time. There were stories in the late 90s and early 00's about players suddenly telling their coaches they had injuries and would not be 100% the week before they played the Cowboys so that it would show up on the injury report and it would not look so bad when LA owned them. sadly all too many here are not old enough to have watched him when he truly was a BEAST.

Anyone arguing that LA wasn't one of the best all times didn't see him his first 6 years ... There's a reason he was easily one of the first two lineman picked as an all-decade member even after being drafted in just 94 and starting in only the second to last game that season.

The man was voted for the pro-bowl for 3 DIFFERENT line positions in his first 7 years, AND dominated Reggie White on the biggest stage.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of Larry not being the best ever. Not a knock, it's just truth.

Larry was one of the most dominating guards ever to play the game, plain and simple. As for retiring a Cowboy, I don't know. Larry was always seemed kind of a flaky dude to me. It wouldn't surprise me if he just didn't do a presser for his retirement and just kind of disappeared from the league, with his only announcement being on the espnews ticker.

Larry was a lot more then just a top guard. He started out as our RG in 95 where he played at a pro bowl level for the next several years. In late 97 he was moved to LT to protect Aikman's blindside which has really taken a beating (eventually helped led to his early retirement); Larry played so well at that level he again went to the pro bowl. Sometime in 98 our newly drafted LT (Flozel) took over & Larry was then moved to RG; he remained at that position & was a pro bowl OG for the next many years. Frankly I've always believed he played better once he left here for the 49ers cause he was just tired of seeing the Cowboys lose. Didn't have the same effect on him as the 49ers losing.

Funny, I just remembered that Flozel took over protecting Aikman (our last franchise QB) but now protects Romo (our current franchise QB) & of course all those disasters in between.

He was down a bit the last couple years but still one of the best O-linemen to play the game.

Ummmm No!

You could make a case that Rayfield Wright was a better tackle than Larry was... or that Erik W. was a better tackle than Larry. Mostly because Larry played most of his career at guard.

You can't make a case for center because Larry, I don't believe, played center any in his career.

But as far as guard... He's the best the NFL has ever had IMO.
