Ramsey is a guy that I want to like. I wish he was being judged as either a corner or a safety. I like Byron Jones and think he is better safety than corner so having Byron Jones 2.0 is hard to get excited about.

I don't like when people act like you can just put someone anywhere and we will be a better team for it. I don't like hybrid players on either side of the ball...at least not at #4.

Another DB great. Because it's worked in the past with Newman, Claiborne, Roy Williams. Someone needs to put a gun to Jerry jones head and tell him football games are won in the trenches.

Newman was a very good CB for us for years. Roy Williams was every bit what we expected him to be when we drafted him until he got fat. Both players exceeded their rookie contracts which is all you can hope for in a rookie. Many players don't live up to their second contract.

I'm a Zeke guy by the way.

If those picks were Reed, Polamalu, and Janoris Jenkins you wouldn't be saying this. You don't run away from a top talent because of past failures.

you aren't getting what I am saying sir. Polamalu is not himself with Harrison , reed is not as good without Suggs/Ray Lewis , and please don't mention Jenkins with those 2 hall of famers the Rams didn't even sign him back. They franchised Johnson instead. You build a defense with a front 7 first . We've been trying it the other way around for 20 years.

Since it looks like it's all but locked in that he is the pick.

Now if people here believe we are "locked in", I am sure teams picking behind us think the same. This makes me think there will be a team that will surely leap frog us for Ramsey since the Chargers seem happy to trade down.

Both Kiper and Mayock have him rated as the best CB. Not that they are the end all, be all, but I'm guessing by now their rankings reflect at least some info. on what they are hearing from sources around the league.

I'm not a Ramsey guy, heck, I do like DB's at all in the top 10, but if selected I will cheer him on.

I think you could be right. If Jags/Ravens want him, to easy of a trade to make. Chargers probably know we are not taking Tunsil or Buckner, so they could drop down to 6 and still get 1 of their top 2 guys.

I agree but they were top 6 picks . A top 6 pick should be a franchise cornerstone. They were decent contributors nothing more. We spent a 1st round pick on Byron jones last year and I guess they are going to do it again. We'll see how far that gets us.

Pretty sure he wants to wear 23, said so in an interview somewhere..

I think he fits the scheme.. but he wants to be a corner and that forces Carr and Claiborne into a competition on the other side where you already have Scandrick, so Safety would be the easier fit for him in year 1.

I'm not sold him though at all. He played CB, S, LB and blitzed a lot. He was not lock down when he played CB and he was late to react in general to a lot of situations. He guesses a lot and it gets him in trouble. He is not always aggressive fighting through blocks when it someone other than a WR blocking him. He tackles, but he is not a hitter. He has some tools, but he is far from a finished product at any position. I don't see a superstar on film or someone with great technique. I see an athlete that relies a lot of his athletic ability to make up for his issues.

They may have him ranked as the best CB but I can't help but assume his overall ranking is greatly influenced by his safety play. In fact most scouts mention he may be better at safety. Then they bring up what a play maker he is in the secondary yet he doesn't have any turnovers to really show playmaker.

It's pretty obvious that it's either Ramsey or Zeke this year...I worry we are passing up a stud back for a guy that may be a bit over hyped.
