Last 30 years -the Jags, Jets, Panthers, and Falcons have more playoff wins?

It's really kind of funny who in the NFL has more resources than Jerry.
I mean for goodness sake he could hire the absolute most qualified people in every single position.

Could pay for people to scour the planet for talent his resources are endless.

But he flat out loves to work with his family the unqualified football people in the NFL.

So really the success that we do have is very much in spite of ourselves.

Maybe sometime in the future one of Jerry's offspring or their offspring will decide to use the resources and higher qualified people to build a Super bowl winning football team .

Until then we are handcuffed with trying to be successful the way Jerry wants to be successful and that is a hard way to go in the NFL

Playoff wins, even without a Super Bowl, are a good way to gauge where your franchise really is. If you don't have many, you're doing it wrong. If you do have a lot, you are close, and need to figure out what the last piece of the puzzle is or get lucky one year.
Exactly and we've been doing it wrong for a really long time now.

Coach and quarterback combination are very important

It pays to once in awhile go with the proven commodity something with a pedigree but in Jerry's mind that's no fun we got to try and make the silk line purse out of a sows ear.

We got to try and take the undrafted free agent and hope he'll be as good as a Heisman trophy winner.
We got to see if we can Will Jason Garrett into being Tom Landry none of it happened.

Garrett McCarthy schottenheimer they're not Jimmy Johnson and Dak Prescott isn't Troy aikman I don't care how many passing records he breaks.

These coach and quarterback combinations are in the Hall of Fame for a reason because they Excel in big moments and prove themselves.

The history is there to learn from but Jerry continues to try and reinvent the wheel.
We could win a playoff game or two but the Super bowl unless you're Eli Manning it takes more than luck

I'm not saying it's impossible to win a Super bowl with DAk as our quarterback and schottenheimer as our coach.

But I am saying we need a top five defense to do so.

Even with all the additions that we have made to enhance the defense I think it's a bit of a stretch to expect it to go from the worst in the league to top five. This year.

I think middle of the pack is a more realistic expectation along with being able to win a playoff game.

I would be pretty stoked if we could accomplish that this year add more talent and check some more boxes and move deeper into the playoffs next year.

I think if Jerry stays totally committed to this it's a two-year project possibly three as long as Dak stays healthy to get to a Super bowl.

then compare it to the previous 30 years, and you'll see why I'm deeply depressed these days.:flagwave:

I have more hope this year with the improvements we’ve made this off-season. Fingers crossed, good luck charm grabbed, and hopes as high as I’ve had in several years. We are soooo overdue for a playoff run.

Maybe we can finally catch the jags, jets, cardinals, panthers and falcons in playoff wins over the last 30 years! WHAT?? ARE YOU SERIOUS??

Yes…Hard to believe the last 30 years some of the NFL’s worst bottom feeders have been better than us in the playoffs! TIME TO CHANGE THIS COWBOYS!

WAIT…These teams have more playoff wins than the Cowboys the last 30 years?
  • Arizona Cardinals - 6 playoff wins. 2 NFC championship appearances, 1 SB appearance.
  • NY Jets - 7 playoff wins, 3 AFC championship games
  • Jacksonville Jaguars - 8 playoff wins, 3 AFC championship games
  • Atlanta Falcons- 8 playoff wins, 4 NFC championship games, 2 SB appearances
  • Carolina Panthers- 9 playoff wins, 4 NFC championship games, 2 SB appearances
  • Dallas Cowboys - 5 playoff wins, no conference championship appearances
My purpose here is to say: WE ARE OVERDUE. It’s time for our players and coaches to smell the coffee of who we have been the last 30 years and dig in to turn this around.

We need to get back to being what the Cowboys once were. Playoff tough. I’m tired of our “bragging rights” being tied to 30 years backwards.

Maybe this year will be a year to catch the teams above who have no business being ahead of us in playoff performance.

It’s time! GO COWBOYS!
I'm the first to point out how much Jethro has wrecked the Cowboys, but there has also been a lot of dumb luck these last 30 years. You gotta figure, at least one season, playing the odds, they'll do something different. It's not like they're not consistently making the Playoffs.

But I wish the media would shut up on their Cowboys hype. It's why the other teams love to beat us. They view our Boys as privileged, soft, spoiled and overhyped. Just like this year, always the first team someone wants to get some ratings and predict they will be a force this year. Even with the dynasties long gone, we make it easy for other teams to hate on us.

I look forward to the Bobhaze thread this February titled "Why winning a championship isn't always a good thing".
You mean kind of like after Barry Switzer coached us to one and it validated Jerry's idea that anybody could coach the team.

Leaving us stuck with substandard coaching for the next three decades.
