I kind of like it.

Yes, the trades are probably overly optimistic, but I like most of the players and the draft positions seem reasonable.

I would be the most leery of Easley that early due to the injuries and mental makeup questions.

knowing how it ended up I wish I had done the following

move OG thomas to r2 p15, take quarles at r2 p32, and trade out turner for cyril richardson. we would have an awesome OL for 10 years.

I'm counting 18 picks?

I like a lot of those players, but this is just kind of ridiculous.

More sane would be trying to trade the three seventh rounders and moving into the 5th or something of that nature

I did, I had about 10 7ths, after round 2 teams just start throwing 7th rounders in for any trade down.

Yea, but my point is, 18 picks is absurd b/c you're only going to have, what, 8 guys make the roster?

You're better off with 10 ealier picks than 18.

No, don't do that.

Billy Turner >> Cyril Richardson

Turner will take a little time because he is a bit raw, but his upside is great.
There is something not right about Richardson. A bigger school guy with his size and experience should be better than he has shown. I just think something is off about his mental makeup. He is often very passive.

I think he needs the right motivation, he and hageman could be the most talent players in this draft if they reach their potential, I think he is worth the risk in the 3rd; especially if we end up with a couple of 3rds.

I really like your original picks of Brandon Thomas and Billy Turner.

The fact that Richardson showed up to the Senior Bowl way overweight was a problem for me also. Even super knucklehead Seantrel Henderson got his weight down.

yeah I didn't like that as well but if he hadn't done that he wouldn't be available in the 3rd lol. I wish garrett could handle a knuckle head or 2, I really think that the RKG mantra in the draft is not about eliminating distractions or team cohesiveness I think it is about him being self aware enough to know that he can't handle the knuckle heads and strong personalities like jimmy was able to do and he saw what happened after jimmy left and what those guys can do to a locker room if left unchecked.

18 is ok with me.

Still 13 more to fill out the 90 man roster.

Even Jimmy had help from "his" players.

Irvin helped Jimmy identify the bad seeds and they were quickly eliminated.

It was very helpful that Irvin had been in Miami with Jimmy and then in Dallas for a year before Jimmy.

Parcells brought in some of "his" guys for the same reasons.

Garrett didn't have "his" guys from a previous stop because he was a 1st time head coach.

It would be good if tne Cowboys could take a chance on crazy or over agressive guys like Burfict, but I don't want the lazy/passive type knuckleheads like MartyB.

I like a lot of the players that you picked, but I think the trades are certainly positive on the Cowboys side...and, we are not going to pick 18 players...if they ever did something like this, then I could see moving several picks to get picks in the 2015 draft
