NO Free Agency this go around.
I will say I want Miami Hurricanes Corey Hetherman as the Defensive Coordinator and Ohio State's James Laurinaitis as the linebackers coach, but you know not all smart things come to fruition. We'll probably try to establish continuity by sticking with Flus. Oh, well can't help that. It happens.
14. DE Rueben Bain, Miami... obviously, he would have to drop because of his arm length deficiency. I don't care about that, take the guy who wrecks the game every time he is on the field; and thank god he was there when he was.
21. CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee... People shy away form this guy because he hasn't played this year. If he did play this year, he would be a consensus top 5 pick this year. I have no problem betting on an ACL injury, that isn't the death nail it one was. Don't use Revel as a reference, he would have been fine this year if he didn't reaggravate his injury. I expect him to make massive strides in his second year.
114. LB Keyshaun Elliot, Arizona State... the guy is ubiquitous, relentless effort. Smart leader of the defense type of player.
154. TE Sam Roush, Stanford... immediately, comes in and kicks Schoonmaker to the curb. He is a great all around in-line TE, Blocking Check, Receiving Check. He should go higher but people are sleeping on him.
178. RT Fa'alili Fa'amoe, Wake Forest... will have to improve with his pass sets. In the run game he is a vicious blocker. I really wanted him to make bigger strides in his game this year. Even though he didn't, he is still an adequate player with a lot of upside.
179. SS Key Lawrence, UCLA... an overly aggressive player. Will add a layer of mean to the defense. His explosiveness is top notch, he tends to make splash plays. In a predominantly zone scheme defense, I think he would thrive making plays on what's in front of him. Not having to decipher routes and just reacting to his zone will be key.
217. Edge Nathan Voorhis, Ball State... speed rush guy. Probably, just a designated pass rusher, but the speed off the edge and the bend are undeniable. Fowler made a livin' doing the same thing. Run defense isn't his bag.
224. Center Jager Burton, Kentucky... Just a back up for Beebe. First year as a full time center seemed to acclimate well. His anchor is strong but speed rushers have always given him fits, even in a phone booth.
