Just curious, but what do most of yall do with the wife/husband/significant other on the Sunday, if anything, before the season starts?

I plan on surprising my wife next weekend and make it all about her before I gently let her know that Sunday's will be off-limits for awhile. She knows this, has dealt with it in the past....quite well I might add but I want to go about it differently this time.

I think I am going to take her to the River-walk in SA Saturday afternoon and spend the night in a nice hotel. Might even take another one of those boring boat-rides on the river complete with the music and flowers....who knows.

There is just not much else to do near Houston that we haven't done many, many times. She deserves my full attention(no sports at all this weekend) before I ignore her for the next 22 or so weeks

Too funny. My wife won our FFL last year, too. I used to help her draft the first couple of years. Not a chance, now. She's won 4 times in the last 12 years we've played in this particular league.

The best thing to do is grow up, put family first, and DVR when needed

Wow, a well-thought out response there. Looking for what people do before football season starts and I get a "grow up? I will let you know that my family always comes first, this question was kind of in-jest but I guess you can't see through that since you are Mr. Serious and all

Don't sweat it. It's the typical "I'll tell you how to run your family" thread hijack that this particular poster seems to interject in ******-tastic fashion.

Recruited the now wife to be a Cowboys fan just after we started dating years ago. She enjoys the Sunday festivities with me. It's worked out well. She gets into the games and we both have fun.

I have two fantasy football drafts on Sunday. Other than that, watching some baseball and grilling out.

Last free Sunday to get drunk without regards to any football being on....J/K, I won't be doing any of that.

I'll go home for the weekend, so most likely will be doing yard work or any other errands I need to do on the house and vehicles.

To be honest that was kind of weak. Your family can understand your passion for the team and everything's a give and take and you should accommodate them with their passions

- that's the grown up part.

I'm not sure what kind of relationship your in, but your family should understand your passions. My wife and give take and we do a weekly date she picks our next movie.

I've got three drafts this weekend myself. One with my little brother that is ALL about bragging rights. I plan to take him down by any means necessary. lol

And you should understand that you can DVR the game and be able to engage your passion and spend time with the family. Doing both. That's the grown up part.

My wife is a huge NFL fan, .. she is a bigger NFL fan than I am.

I am a bigger Dallas Cowboys fan than she is though. She is not a fan of Jerry Jones at all.
I watch everything related to Dallas, .. she watches all of the NFL.
