I don’t expect Sam Williams Damone Clark Terrence Steele Malik Hooker Ferguson guys like that to be Cowboys in 26 . You got to churn that roster and all these players should be pushed to the exits make room for younger competition, upgrades .

Also could see quite the turn over in both the RB and WR rooms . Let’s face it 7-10 leaves a lot of room for improvement and interestingly enough this could be it for Dak if 3rd place out of the money is where this goes this season .

I’ve predicted a much better finish this year let’s see how it shakes out .

All depends on how the younger players do this year and how aggressive the Cowboys plan to be in FA next year. You can't let a bunch walk and not replace them. Also, guys like Williams won't be able to command a lot in FA unless he blows up this year.

I mean I don’t think we will miss them most haven’t contributed anything to this point.

We do it every off season

Williams is someone I think they’d like to resign to a contract similar to what they did with Armstrong originally.
Hooker is aged out.
Clark might not even make the team.
Ferguson has been mentioned as someone they’d like to resign to the right contract.

They’ll have one June 1st designation next season. It will either be
Steele 13m base 9m deadcap or
Diggs 14.5m base 5m deadcap.
Considering they’ll already have 16m in deadcap allocated towards Martin for their other June 1st designation, I’m guessing it will be Diggs unless Steele completely ***** the bed!

..most of those players you mentioned, are on the fence already. Fergs has had some splashes, same with Williams and Clark. Steele got paid and went south. Hooker I'm surprised he's still here.

One thing they all have in common, major competitors are standing by.

As for team year. I can see Dallas wining at least 11-12 games.

We'll have to see how they play this year. I would expect the Cowboys to let Hooker leave. And they have a history of allowing TEs not named Witten to leave too. Perhaps all the pumping of Spann-Ford is a message to Ferguson.

Sam Williams is an interesting situation. The guys has elite physical traits. He has shown, in limited opportunities, he can play the run and rush the passer. But the Cowboys drafted Ezeiruaku, another quick pass rusher only more polished and maybe less bone-headed. But what if Sam has a big year with double digit sacks and he eliminates the dumb penalties? What if he show up as a quality run stopper on the outside? We may want to resign him. At the same time, after re-signing Parsons they probably can't afford Sam Williams too.

Damone Clark is probably not going to be a big loss, but he also might be cheap enough to keep around.

But Bland is also in a contract year. They have a big decision to make with him, and or Diggs. And Steele may be too expensive to keep any longer, unless he really shows up in 2025.

By my count the Cowboys have 32 players currently on their roster and in the last year of their contracts. 4 of them, including Brandon Aubrey will be RFAs next year. The other 28 with be unrestricted free agents. That list includes

Micah Parsons
Donovan Wilson
DaRon Bland
George Pickens
Jalen Tolbert
Jake Ferguson
Kaiir Elam
and a bunch of other guys. 3 are LBs4 are CBs, not including CJ Goodwin and Israel Mukuamu. Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams will be free agents. TJ Bass, Brock Hoffman, Saahdiq Charles, Hakeem Adeniji, and Robert Jones will also be free agents.

I suspect some of these guys will not be here after the final cuts, but it will still be a long list again. It seems every year the Cowboys have 20 or more players entering free agency.

It’s difficult to project which players will be re-signed right now because it will depend mostly on their performances in 2025.

I think Parsons gets signed before the season. The two players most likely to be re-signed after the season are Bland and Pickens.

If Bland has a great season, look for the team to cut Diggs and franchise tag Bland. If Pickens and the offense play well, Jerry will offer 20+ per.

The rest of the impending free agents will either get modest deals or move on. I think there a good chance this is Ferguson and Wilson’s last year here. Another 2026 cut possibility is Steele unless he picks up his game.

You know the answer to this.

HARD DECISIONS DONT EXIST

you cut ties with potential that cant get on the field and go with next man up

Yada yada yada

Hooker in last year of his contract, he most likely will not be back, they need to draft a S to replace him, or a FA.

Williams may get an Armstrong type 2 year deal depending his playing time as well. There will be a rotation most likely that limits his snaps, as it will others also. If he does not perform, then he will go into FA.

Clark, this is his last chance, if he even makes the team. I think he will, because Overshown starts on PUP. The 2 UDFA's will really need to show up to replace Clark otherwise.

Ferguson will need a strong season also, or they will draft his replacement. I like him, but could be better, the entire TE group could be better.

Steele, I will just wait and see. 2 years now since his injury. He was improving toward thee end of the year last season.

There are probably some other players that could be added to this list as well.

I don't expect most of those guys back play dependent but Ferguson could be an exception depending on if he takes that next step.
