They refused to run the majority of the 2nd half when they had the lead and the passrush was killing Burrow.

It was like Kellen Moore decided to show up and call the game for Cinci lol

I swear this is not rocket science. It’s amazing to me how little regard for the running game teams have any more… the oldest, surest, safest way to salt away the game but these new school “guru” OCs can’t step away from their shotgun pass sets long enough to even attempt a consistent running game lol

They want the bug play quick score these days. They are not patient enough with 3-5 yard runs that wear down the defense. Sportscenter likes the big plays.

Burrow = Mahomes running for his life the previous SB against Tampa except the Bengals defense far outplayed what the Chiefs did against Brady . They had success turning Awuzie into a ball hawking corner who could tackle instead of a soft zone CB he was in Dallas .

Given the issues on that Oline would not surprise if the Bengals tried to sign Connor Williams plug him at guard. Break him of the nasty habit of multiple holding calls per game .

Yep, that sequence has KM written all over it. Something he would do. And failed as well. They should have tried to get that first down on second down. With Mixon in and running the dammm ball. Oh well, they have a long off season to think about it. Burrow did what he could with that bad OL.

I was surprised at the 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 calls. I think it was a good time to make deep throw and catch them off guard. but I thought they might throw on that 3rd and 1 and then on 4th and 1 run. I was surprised for the run to the middle, perhaps running to the outside, may have gotten them a yard. they were packed inside. and also why not a quick WR screen and get the ball to them in space and let them get a yard.

Bengals fans have to be sick. To botch that situation where you had a 2nd and 1 with momentum and 2 timeouts at the LA 49 is just brutal. And looking at Samaje Perine's playoff stats...the guy had only taken 2 rushing attempts in the ENTIRE playoffs...2 carries for 2 yards. And yet their coach wanted him in there for the most important series of the year.

Rams were getting great pressure and not giving much time for 7 step deep balls and knew it, then Rams started clamping down on those short routs, I was seeing LB reacting back up to those short crossing routs and slants.

Yep. Run the ball away from donald. Some toss plays or off tackle runs and short passes, pick up some 1st downs and make them use there time outs. Burn that clock. I remember we would get a lead and run the ball. They knew it was coming but couldn’t stop it..

That’s when they needed to go deep.. You get them up to the line and play action and go deep.. Will make the play or draw a flag..

Another thing I questioned is why they didn’t call any plays to slow down the pass rush - especially with that oline. No screens, one draw which worked, no moving the pocket or roll outs with a qb that can run like he can… they just had him drop back every time and wait for the rush to collapse the pocket !

Sportscenter cost them big time because they were having success running the ball. As someone just mentioned it sounds like Wonder Boy took over the play calling once they grabbed the lead.
