In reading the multiple posts on Sean becoming our next head coach, most were in favor except
for one major stumbling block: Compensation to the Saints.
Tampa gave the Raiders 2 # ones and 2 # two draft picks for Gruden.
That's a non starter for me.
With how weak the Cowboys have been with free agency, drafting well has kept them competitive,
we need our premium draft picks to stay relevant.
So from the outside it appears Payton has a great relationship with the Saints Ownership and GM.
He had written into one of his recent HC contracts that if the GM or ownership changed he was released from the contract.
That tells me they have a great relationship.
Now if Sean after a year off wanted to coach the Cowboys it would seem to me that the Saints would not
hold the Cowboys hostage with outrageous compensation demands out of respect, loyalty and mutual respect for Payton?
Maybe a token 2nd rounder ?
