If I recall correctly, the last time we had a decent backup QB was Bernie Kozar and Steve Berlien (sp). In fact in those two of those three yrs we won the SB. I am not saying that we'll win the SB now but it's encouraging to see the overall depth of the team has improved so significantly.

When was the last time our backup QB played this well in pre season game???? Again, it dated back to the days of Berlein (sp).......

Hope Romo can keep this up, we may have a future QB afterall.

I like Garrett and Kosar when he came to Dallas as a backup. I also felt comfortable when Danny was behind Roger

I actually thought that Rodney Peete and R Cunningham were decent backups too.

Can't have a good back-up QB without a really good QB in front of them, keeping them at bay. Otherwise the guy would be your starter and not your back-up. So yes it has been a while, as we obviously have not had a good starting QB to begin with in many years.

I noticed Romo's potential a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if he is the future, but who cares about the future? He's our present!

When will Cowboy fans quit dwelling on the future and live in the present time?

Never. If we are not looking to the future then we tend to live in the past. The past glory years that is.

so does quincy or hutch count as a back up because as a back up Q wasnt too bad.

Vinny Testaverde was a good backup for a week or two, until the starter was kicked off the team.

Before that, nobody since Randall Cunningham. It's tough to have a good backup when you don't have a good starter.

Beurlein was the last one that I had any confidence in. The other ones I kind of just hoped for great coaching, gimmicks or random luck.

really? jason garret was the man there for a while... but the years all run together for me now I think he was before garret right?
just throw the ball to harper and it will all turn out for the best.

they were a dynamic duo at the back up and number 2 reciever spot

Kosar was very good. remember when Troy was knocked out of the playoff game and Kosar came in? He did very well.

I agree with Cunningham and before that it was Wade Wilson. I never had confidence in Jason Garrett.
