Late game thread

SF won again....... 3 straight.

Surprised they are willing to kill their draft position..... Guess with their QB locked up, they want to get better with not having to pay out the nose for top 5 talent.

Announcer just said something wrong he said if Tennessee wins it's next two games it's division champ, but they're 8-6 Jacksonville 10-4 Jacksonville just has to win their other game (not against Tennessee) to make that wrong.

The problem with the rule, just as it was three years ago, is that it's not account for guys reaching out with the ball. If James (or Dez) catches that in the middle of the field, they go right to the ground with the ball tucked against their abdomen and don't fumble. Because it's around the goal line, or if they were at the sticks for a 1st down, they are trying to gain that extra yard, which makes the ball more precarious that it would be, and it can move a little. But the fact that you are reaching out should prove that you have possession and therefore it's a catch. I must have typed this out like 40 times after the GB game and here we are again, everybody acts like it's so hard to write the rule but it's not. Reaching out = football move = catch, stop punishing players for playing the game.

he meant if they won that game

Crap like this makes me think it’s all rigged.
Yes, that was a t.d. in any receivers view, that ball could've bounced through the goal posts when he hit the ground and it would've been ruled a T.D. back in the 70's, I remember the league (or maybe it was HOWARD COSELL) was always pretty adamant on how the ground will not be the cause of a fumble,,, I saw nothing but ball control & footballish type of maneuvering when the ball broke the plane of the goal line,,,B.S. on display!

Then there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn, is a legitimate argument..

I don't disagree, but they have called it pretty consistently. If there is movement at all, generally they say no catch. Will be interesting to see what the Steelers have to say about it after the game.

At the end of the day the Steelers were screwed just like Dallas was and now we get to have Steeler fans whine for the next several years about that play. Could be the difference in home field advantage and a super bowl run. BTW, I don’t feel bad for the Steelers at all, screw them.

I'm sure Romo thought it was a catch. Just like that Dez catch. Like everyone else did except the NFL.

Actually, he and Nantz initially kept saying TD, until it came to their attention that they were looking at the ball moving....and then Romo started saying that they ball did move.

Yup, Khiladi. They'd gladly take these wins with JimmyG, watching him develop, over a high draft slot.

I heard we were targeting him, but Patriots got him before us. He is from Romo’s school Eastern Illinois and I think topped his records. Maybe Romo was telling them, get this guy..

When you have your future QB, as SF firmly believes, there's no need to tank for them. They want to see positive development for the rest of the season. They could give a damn about top ten vs. top 15, if it means their new, young QB is good :)

Patriots are almost unbeatable at home and they know it. They take getting it very seriously and never relax about it.
