Late game thread

You watch Barry? Numbers be damned, there has never been a runner like him. Never. Not even close.
He put fear into me, when the rock was handed to him like when it was handed to Michael Jordan.

Bear in mind the garbage OL's Barry always had and how amazing he was anyway.
Every time he was handed the ball, during a Boys game, I straight up tensed.

That guy was so special.
Jordan wasn't that great as a RB!!:muttley:

My point was Emmitt got the tough yards inside, with or without line help. Emmitt had that great vision. And Barry did have an OL. He didn't play behind trash.
For the majority of his career, no he didn't. EDIT: I actually stated the opposite in this sentence and had to correct it. Whoopsies... DOUBLE EDIT: After reading again: I don't even know what I'm saying anymore... You guys figure it out. I remember that Sanders had a crud OL for the majority of his career.
C'mon... I remember year after year the complaints over the Lion's OL and how, if Barry didn't create gold from poo, it was a negative play. And the stats bear it.
That guy played the RB position like DaVinci- so different and electric, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Emmitt.
22 was my heart and soul through the early to mid-90's. Him powering through the Giants with that shoulder injury? His dependability, his eyes, his effiency... Masterful.
Being the most baddest on the field every damn week?

LOVE EMMITT.

But Barry was a cat and he was so, so special and could have done so much more, if he was on a competent team.
I mean, shoot, the guy retired, still in his late prime because he was fed up with the Lions.
Someone else did that later... Oh! I know! Calvin Johnson. What team did he play for again?

Not so special running inside, like Emmitt was known for doing damage.

Ah, the Barry vs. Emmitt debate.

The thing about Barry Sanders is he could have a game with 2 80-yard TD runs (he did that against TB one year) and
follow that game up with a 12 carries for minus-7 yards game.

He has the most negative yards carries in NFL history.... but... wow, was he ever dangerous! A supreme athlete.

Seahawk starters out.

Resting up for next week.

That defense needs the rest.

well the Jags would make me happy being in NY. The Giant fans would not be happy

correct, OL was good. team not so much. certainly not because of Barry, he was awesome...
Those 2 probowlers were for their pass protection, which they were so great because the DL was always so focused on Barry.

Don't fall for simpleton stuff.

That’s a nice fantasy you made up in your head there. How many -7 yard games did he have in his career again?

Barry...if he was all world then why was he pulled in short yardage and goal line situations? Emmitt was ever pulled in any situation? 1st or 2nd down? 3rd down passing? Short yardage? Goal line? Nope. Everyone knew he was getting the rock. It was more than the OL too why Smith is an all-time great RB.

Sean Davis might be the dirtiest player in the league. Every single game that dude is taking a shot @ someone.

I know this is strange but I’m almost more nervous about Seattle after a blow out since they’ll probably ready to make amends. A tight slug fest might have taken more out of them. Just side things I think of
